PVM is crap. Use a normal TV or monitor.
I just wanted to show I know my stuff, that's all. I played Sega megadrive, then when everybody was playing on PSX, I was playing on Sega Saturn, and after that, I buyed a Dreamcast. I was young then. Now I grew up, and even if I have a lot of these, I prefer a company like SNK that was carring about customers for 15 years, than a company like Sega that stopped Dreamcast after 2 Years. Where was the money I gived for these consoles? And the same count for those who buyed 32X. On 32X you can play NBA Jam T.E (like on Megadrive). Amazing... And like, Sega "surprised" nobody wanted to buy? There is no games...
Sega Saturn was sell more than 10 millions, and Sega said it was a failure, and Neo-Geo was sell 1 million in 15 years, and it was a success? It just mean, even if you don't have supremacy, you can make games for people and fans that are following you, and make money. The point is, Sega depend more on satisfying shareholders, than having regular customers, fanbase, gamers, etc... They have money, but they wanted all the cake, because their shareholders are not satisfied. Now, Sega says since they have no more consoles, they only maked money, more and more, and never loose money, they are happy. But, you throw away all your fans/customers/etc... And now you feel happy to make great money?
When I see that, I understand that Sega is not a "friendly" firm, it's a big company, and that has nothing to do anymore with the company that maked the SMS and the MD. They just make money, like a Casino, and there is no reason to be a fanboy of them. You can be a fan of Yuzo Koshiro, Yuji Naka, etc.. These are people, but you can't think that a company is something alike. Company is just for making money. What is great on Neo-Geo, is that SNK have a face, named Eikichi Kawasaki, that has the honor of leading this company. All hardest games on Neo maded with him as a chief, and it's an ex-boxer.
I love the perspective of this kind of structure, compared to Sega, saying "we couldn't make it", even if they have an entire "Town" (Ota-ku, the appelation "Otaku" derivates from it) (yeah, right, Nintendo have a bigger town...), and their finances are nice.
When you say Sega, you say "Yakuza". It's the same. Kiryu is important, and if Kiryu is not here, it's not the same game, or the same Yakuza mafia, or the same company. At Sega, individuals are important. SNK is not the same, because Eikichi was a champion, got enough money to make a company to make video games, called SNK. And Sega was founded by David Rosen, who sell it later to Nakayama... Nobody can be the "face" of Sega. Yu Suzuki is the boss of AM2 for a period, Yuji Naka boss of Sonic Team, etc... Even the AM's and other developpement groups changed a lot during all these years. A corporation is too big, to really represent something. It's in the same time everything and nothing. For the Saturn period, we could say the face of Sega is Nakayama, but he's now retired. But you can also say this is why there is a big "soul" in all Sega hardware during this period, because somebody represent Sega during this period, as was the boss of Sega USA Kalinske for megadrive.
