I have a green SFZ 3, the board was dead, so after testing it and removing the bad battery, I burned new eproms with Phoenix Code.
The game works, but the sound is weird.

Here is the video.

Could be a few things...

Clean and reseat the the Qsound maskroms and the sound program eproms.
Check the jumpers for those chips
Verify them http://romident.coinopflorida.com/
Check Pal3 and the board revision (early version boards -3,-4 don't work properly without a jumper wire.
If you didn't swap all the main program roms make sure you didn't mix versions. Like 980629 decrypted roms with normal 980727 roms.
Usually if that happens the game won't boot....but who knows?

All this

Additionally I once had a board with the same exact problem, turned out after 3 hours of troubleshooting the fault was a bad trace.

Where on the B board is the Q sound RAM? I have a suicided SFZ3 and with the Suicide tester it says Q sound RAM is bad.
