Custom Joystick and Button Wiring

I'm in the process of wiring a custom joystick for Neo from scratch using the screw in db15 connector like this http://www.winfordeng.com/products/brksd15.php

My question is, would it be possible to dedicate a button that acts as if pressing multiple buttons at the same time? I want this one button to press A+B+C+Start for the unibios.

Cool thanks XX, does this diodes from radiosack works? http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062577&filterName=Type&filterValue=Diodes I'm not an electrical engineer and don't have a clue about volts or amps etc etc.

Also, is using diodes the only way? What would happen if I replace the diodes with regular wires instead?

If I understand the tutorial correctly, If you don't use diodes the other buttons would all act as the multi button.

Those diodes should work OK, diodes just act as a one-way "valve" so to speak; they only let current flow through them in one direction and not the other.
