Couldn't agree more with this... I remember when I first join last year, things weren't as bad as they are today. Well there was the board hacking thing though but it came back on the right track. I left for about 6-7 months, came back and all I saw was this place starting to crumble to pieces.

I don't hate anybody here. Even DKEX, whom I despised, will get a new shot from me when he supposedly returns from suspension come January.

Neo Rasa is definitely one of the wittiest members we have had here. I've seen him express his disgust with this site before - and I don't think he's joking this time, either.

Yep, right.

I know how it's like to see a once closely-knit community getting a... a... hmm, let's put it this way, broader user base, but that's no reason to quit IMO.

Instead of bemoaning the things happening at ng.com at the mo, I try to help newbs and get into game discussions as positively as I can. Sometimes it doesn't work out because of some exceptionally stupid members, but generally, I think ppl should be a lil' more informal and a lil' less touchy.

basically you see what I'm getting at. Many people have little to gain here entertainment wise. They are just part of the angry mob of social discontents looking for a rabble rouser to point them to a dumbass for flaming. With Drift King suspended, I guess some people just got bored and left.

This site, I do love it. But it doesn't offer much to those that aren't completely mad about the neo. How much can you talk about neo geo games? Especially when you don't even play all the games. I bet most people here mainlky play KoFs - or SS games if not KoF. I doubt anyone came here because they love Voltage Fighter Gowcaiser or Shin Ou Ken.

But you know, this site sucks for talking about KoF - that's what ON is for. And this site doesn't even have a SS forum, so screw that, eh.

What it does offer is a warroom and an unrelated section, and they are both sucky. Along with the selling sections - which aren't really for discussion, although we often use them for such.

So when someone gets bored of this place and decides to leave, I don't really care. There are people I care about keeping here - as they are involved in gameplay discussions. NBM, Gemant, Shito, Fran, Jeff Kurtz, Garou_D, Devil_Gans, Verbatum, Galford Forever, Bonus Kun, ForeverSublime, NeoBuyer, Kid Aphex, insaneben, Spike, Spike Spiegel... actually... the list is larger than I thought. I could really keep going on people that actually do seem to give a shit about neo geo games and will discuss them.

But there are plenty more that don't talk neo. The thread starter, for example. Perhaps he only talks neo at on.com.

Well, I do like the Neo a lot.

Mad about it? No.

I joined to learn about the Neo more in-depth, which I have accomplished thanks to many people here.

The forums are getting bombarded with children seeing attention.

If it was like the old days of 2000 and half of 2001 then, fuck, I'd be all for it.

As of now, my interest in he Neo is groing smaller by the day.

Will I sell it?

No.

Have I reached any goals?

No.

Do I have any goals set?

Just to get SS4 JPN MINT :)

Playmore pretty much trashed what was left of the Neo.

KOF sucks ass, but if you think shelling out $300 everytime the piece of shit comes out then go for it.

Alas, there are few games on the Neo I actually like.

I was an old timer, playe mostly Sam Sho and he older titles.

This site is now trash. A playground.

WTF is Judge Dredd?

War Room?

This site is lame.

Tue, the communty is great, but its also lame at the same time.

I hope Shawn can sell his stock and help you guys out.

I for one won't be buying ANY new releases.

I think they all are shit.

Once you trash the Meal Slug series you won't be forgiven.

I do have a website that promotes the sale of the new releases, and I want them to move.

If it was my money, I would have stopped with Metal Slug 3.

Tats when everything started going downhill.

I'm content with what I have, and when the time comes, I may add.

But for now, PSO-World.com and my GCN will keep my interest.

I'm not going anywhere, but Ihope things pick up.

P.S. any errors in typing are because of this POS laptop I need to get rid of.

I know where you are Cap - you came to exchange knowledge, and you're pretty much done here on that accord. So what's left? Not much.

For the most part, video games have little to offer on their own, eh. Like Gary said, LIFE. These are just a diversion.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the site.

Judge Dredd is okay, as it's just an anonymous way to moderate for the same people that you already know as mods. You just don't know who to attack, and that's perfect. Now when someone is out of line, a mod can lay the law without making enemies. Good. Because being a mod will hold a liability on making deals and keeping civility between you and other folk in chat, etc. Let JD be the enemy.

The warroom and unrelated are filled with junk, but then every room orochinagi is filled with junk like "who is your favorite Last Blade character, when everyone is just picking the most pansy ass to vote for. Setsuna, Moriya. As far as forums go, the neo-geo.com one is better than the rest. SRK is worthless to me. ON just doesn't have enough of what I want.

But to each their own, eh. Some people prefer ON, and that's why it's still active to this day, right.

Maybe in a few weeks you'll want to take a vacation. You've done it before. The place gets boring. You leave. You get bored. You come back.

No need to burn the bridge on the way out, right?

Fuck no, I love my bridge where its at, and I love most of you.

It would be so damn hard to say goodbye and not come back.

No more salad tossing remarks OK? That pissed me off.

I like a great deal of the members here, and I strongly dislike the rest.

You guys are like a second family to me, and how cool is it that you can trust people you don't even know with $1000's of dollars?

Fuck, I sent Shawn my Metal Slug AES to evaluate. I wouldnt trust a lot of people to do that.

I bought from just about every seller on this board and sold to at least 60% of the active members.

Some things do piss me off, and I voice my opinion about them.

Everyone is entitled to their own words, so no problems there.

It just causes more debating and arguing.

I'm openly admitting I'm not as big a Neo fan as most of you.

But the games I own now are not for sale.

I got a taste of everything there was to offer in our little world.

People bashed me for it, but you know what? I loved every minute of it.

It was jealousy.

I have the finances to buy and sell at a loss.

In the end I did break even.

I got to own the rarest and most sought after carts.

I got to own 90+ MVS titles and try out games I never thought I would.

I had EVERY SINGLE CD game and got to test the loading times and extras.

I first hand played Ironclad and Crossed Swords 2.

I had a lot of NGP games.

But you know what?

In the end, I felt I wasted my money.

Why have games you will never play?

Is it the passion for a game system that was so appealing to you as a youth that you carried out your dream and are proud of it?

Are you interested in building a substantial investment by purchasing multiple copies of sought after carts to make a profit on impulse buyers?

My love for thew Neo runs knee deep.

Samurai Shodown will always be my favorite Neo game even though I rarely play it.

I suck at fighting games and ironically thats all my collection of AES titles consists of.

Point: The Last Blades are so damn beautiful it makes me smile everytime I get my ass handed to me.

The artwork on these two titles is GREAT! And i own the warranty cards with them.

I am proud.

I can't get $400 out of them, and I don't care. I love those games.

Take Samurai Shodown...I need 1 more titles to complete the series which I feel is a great accomplishment.

I loved the first one and played the others and dig them as well.

Also, VERY beautiful games.

And MOTW.

Not my favorite game, but it is so colorful and just overall fun to play thats it makes it a keeper.

Keep in mind that I prefer Japanese titles because of the beautiful artwork.

As for the Slugs.

I own 3 titles on MVS that are fun games to me.

MS, NTM, Zupapa.

These are my "fun games"

I can play the first Slug for hours and hours.

I never grow tired of it and I ultimately want to own it and Slug X on AES.

Prices are too much to justify it.

If it was worth $400, cool.

Blazing Star and Pulstar, great games, but I grow tired of them. MVS maybe.

Now on to the aspects of this site I absolutely hate:

(This is my SHIT LIST)

- Noobs who think they are the greatest fans

- The NGF hate bandwagon (everyone, myself included)

- The NGF love rocket (Joshua, Makismo)

- ROM haters

- ROM lovers

- Shawn nut lickers

- People that hate Shawn.

- KOF freaks

- ANAL Collectors (I HATE THEM!)

- Florian

- Judge Dredd

- Flash Intro

- Too Short

- This quote "Your shopping experience will now benefit from increased speed and reliability. "

- Scammers

- Posers

- Haters

- Xbox

and I could go on and on.

But as my life is changing, so are my needs.

And me needs to get on PSO cause I might miss something.

Chuck, I love you man, no more salad tossing? K?

And to the rest of the other members, i love all of you. You are my dogs.

Even Sonics

Later.

EDIT: forgot to add Art Gallery and Polls to my shit list.

We're all here for the drama more than our love of the Neo. You probably voiced the general opinion of all those who love this site and frequent it (including those in your shit list).

Likely, it's because not only of those who you consider friends and share opinions with or discuss issues with (Evil Wasabi), but also those you don't like (Makismo, Too Short) that keeps your interest here.

My +/- list is different than yours, but your logic makes perfect sense.

Neo Rasa may have taken something a little too personally and is the reason for this thread, but his posts always hinted at the same reasoning and desire to be here. That's why he won't leave, no matter what he tried to start with this.

I remember when the user base flat lined at like 500 members for quite some time, I never thought this would happen. This site is flooded, but its still the only place to go for neo. I think if Shawn ditched needless forums like the war room, we would lose alot of the little fucks. I left the board for about 4 months or so, and now coming back, I pretty much just browse the unrelated forum a couple times a week.

I cause so many people to leave it's almost not funny anymore...almost.

Really though, all this talk about "this BBS sucks lately"...really? I've been here for a year now and it seems the same to me. Only newcomers can really discuss the Neo in depth, that shit ended for me like four years ago. I give m4d props to those that have been here for years but can still talk about combos and games and specs and shit, you guys are fucking hardcore. I'm not. Once I'm done I'm done. I talked heavy shit about SS back on samuraispirits.net when it was a good site. Heavy shit like combos, theories, moves, frames, wierd shit I didn't even knew existed in the game but the badasses there knew what was up. Six months of that though and I was burned out, you just can't talk about it any more.

Same for here, same old shit. Site is the same, just with way more people. When I joined last december the member count lingeredin the mid-high 2,000 for months and the site was what, 2 years old? Now there are 5,000+ accounts? That's a lot of fake fucking accounts! :D But who gives a shit? I don't. No casual gamer would. I don't give a shit about NGF or DKex or whatever troll. The only thing that pisses me off is scammers and I wish they all got ass raped by large watermelons. I was part of a online game community for four years. I heard all this shit all the time, how everything has changed. This was all before the game was released and as the release date neared it only got worse. Everyday noobs that registered 3 months ago bitching about how the site had gone to shit. I was there for 4 years and didn't notice a change...because I didn't give a shit. I was active, posted almost every day or whatever. Gave birth to Gizmo and Mr. T there. When I left it was the same and it is prolly still the same today. People posting off topic. People posting on topic. People fucking posting.

So uhhh, yeah. You'll prolly be talking about how this site sucks now and shit on AIM or whatever and reminesce about the good old days....you mean 2 years ago? I know why you do it, prolly to feel like you were a part of something grand. I did it once, with Ultima Online. I bitched and moaned when the game turned to shit...the only difference is it really did go it shit. I liked knowing I was a part of something noobs will never have. Maybe that's why you do it.

Well said. Every time someone posts this kind of "I hate everyone here and the site has gone to shit, delete my account blah blah blah" it seems to be more dramatic grandstanding than anything else.

The forums have more members. Not 5,000 (since many unused or little used accounts were deleted), but more than it did a year or two ago. So what?

The Neo Geo has less and less activity these days, but it isn't totally dead. KOF2K2 is coming out in about ONE WEEK, and its supposed to be one of the best KOFs ever. ROTD came out and was a nice surprise, not a bad game at all. Despite the haters, Metal Slug 4 wasn't that bad at all (sure it did have some reused backgrounds and sprites, but good gameplay on its own). There may be more games coming as well.

Anyway, Neo Rasa had obviously burned out on the scene. He came in from ON and stayed, but in the end he lost interest. He did post some interesting stuff in the past, but lately not much.

And in the end, quoting Makismo in your sig, regardless of what he says to bolster your "cause", is pretty sad. He'll be happier posting at ON.com and babbling in chat, no doubt.
