Does anyone use an S-Video to HDMI converter for their Dreamcast or other consoles

I've been contemplating whether to purchase a Dreamcast VGA adapter but I came across the S-Video to HDMI converters. Anybody use one for their older consoles?

I see a few on Amazon for reasonable prices.

Go with the VGA....

Or VGA to HDMI if you must.

VGA is a lot better than S-Video. You might spend a bit more getting the VGA cable but it's definitely worth it over S-Video. Not every game is VGA compatible, yes but you can always get around that.

Thanks...I was hoping upscaling to HDMI would be as good as VGA

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

If you try to upconvert S-Video, you are taking an inferior signal with resolution lines.

VGA not only has a better quality signal, but it has twice the horizontal resolution.
