I have. One time I won this auction for 5 dollars flat. I was lazy. Took a 5 dollar bill and sandwiched it in-between a piece of paper.

It was funny the reaction I got from the seller.
"I got your payment dude, but geez don't send money through the mail, it's dangerous don't cha know? I mean, what if I lied and said it never came..."

You know what they say though.... You haven't lived on the edge until you send cash through the mail. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Oh, and I usually use checks for small payments like that.

Mainly because I usually only carry some 1s and some 20s if I'm lucky.

Yes. It is not recommended, but it is OK if it is a low amount.

I just fold it inside a piece of paper like a letter and send it in a security envelope. Works every time. And you know what? I've never had a HK seller cheat me on cash transactions. Most eBay sellers from HK only take cash. They are an honest breed of people.

Who said he won a game? He said he won "an auction". It could have been for a half-eaten bologna sandwich. You assume too much. If you are taling about me, I never specified any amount of money. For all you know, I tucked a franklin into an envelope and mailed it out.

Sent cash in the mail? Oh boy have I sent cash in the mail... Not only have I sent cash in the mail, I've sent cash in the mail to Indonesia. Not only was it cash in the mail to Indonesia, but it was during all those riots and stuff they were having last year. But, it was for Dracula X, and a tremendous leap of faith was my last hope... One of the nicest sellers I've ever dealt with too. But man oh man was that a scary week, I must have emailed him every day asking if he got the money...

I have only done it twice and I ONLY USE REGISTERED MAIL. You have to sign for the Registered mail so it is pretty safe, as safe as safe can be.......*pause*....did that make sense? *shrug* whatever...

Greg, I did win a game auction. But it was the real thing... and damn, it was a game I wanted to like but couldn't.
The winning bid was 1.00. I was the only guy who bidded.
The shipping was 4.00 flat.
No negative feedback on the seller.
Nothing was wrong.

What game....?

Sega Saturn import "Golden Axe: The Duel", complete with spine card. I played it a lot, but it eventually ended up on the bottom of my collection.
