Fanart in the style of Amano

So today I was talking about the art of Yoshitaka Amano (who worked on Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D, and Neil Gaiman's Sandman among other things) with a friend of mine, did a bit of Googling, and ran across this: fanart of various anime and game characters made to look like Amano's style. Some of them are hilarious, some of them gorgeous, and some of them are downright eerily similar to the artist they're mimicking (with obvious overlap between those categories).

I've always been an Amano fan, and now I want try doing a sketch like that. My favorite of the bunch is probably the one I put below that spoiler tag, though I'm not sure who the characters are. (I'm sure I'll smack myself when I find out.)

No prob! Glad to know there are some other Amano fans on here. I got bashed the other day for liking Amano over Nomura. Man, those character designs for FFX and Kingdom Hearts are god-awful. I don't hate Nomura's art, but his design sense doesn't do much for me.
