Ok, so I was quite intrigued when a work mate told me the originations of the word "Fuck". But I didn't believe that it originated from medievil times, so I did some searching.

I did come across this in my search - http://www.ebaumsworld.com/fwordflash.html

Then I tried wikipedia -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuck

Some time around 1600, before the term acquired its current meaning, "windfucker" was an acceptable name for the bird now known as the kestrel.

So it leaves a lot to be desired. Apparently acronyms can all be ignored. But I can't believe that the word originated from a poem in the 1500's. It just can't be.

Anyone else have a story to share on the origination of current vulgar words or terms?

I heard the word "Shit" stood for "Store High In Transit" when they shipped manure(sp) and then people just said "shit".

The fuck derivation is a straight lift from the Chambers dictionary of etymology so it's probably pretty accurate.

Jabeetmi2it.

I was also gonna say that FUCKing SWFlash movie had more FUCKing typos than a 3rd grader's essay on basketweaving. If one ever publishes something for use on the internet, at least FUCKing use proper spelling and grammar. But its still FUCKing worth saving.

That's almost as obviously false as when some member posted that Sony (as in the Japanese company) stands for "Standard Oil of New York". LOL (unlike you, he didn't bother looking up its veracity)

Sega was Service Games, a company started in Guam by Americans
Coleco was Connecticut Leather Company
Nabisco was National Biscuit Company
SNK was a good company.

They etymology for these words is unclear at best... contrived acronyms for dirty words are jsut retarded.
