Everyone with a passing interest in the Neo knows about Metal Slug, the fighting game franchises, and Bust-a-Move, but what are some of the lesser-known Neo Geo gems?

I luuuuv League Bowling, it's almost as fun as the arcade Capcom Bowling (king of bowling games) and Shock Troopers is great if you're a fan of MERCS. I also like Ghost Pilots, Sonic Wings 2 and even Ninja Combat. What are everybody else's faves?

last blade(1+2), samurai showdown(1-4), mark of the wolves, zupapa, metal slug and that's it I wish my arcade had more.

Thrash Rally ,Ninja Commandos , Stakes Winner 2 and Robo Army are some fun games that are often over looked.

Zed Blade is a decent diversionary Neo SHMUP, at least in my book; and it certainly is obscure, mainly due to its MVS-only status. Even if you don't dig ZB's derivative side-scrolling shooter fare, you've gotta love that funky music!

We need more people in here talking about actual OBSCURE titles. Last Blade and Windjammers are actually some of the board favorites. League Bowling even... Tons of people love that. The most obscure game I've played is Zupapa, but that's not too good.

Let's see, I'm a big fan of the older, inexpensive Neo titles, many of which are obscure, so this is easy:

* Ghost Pilots
* Cyber Lip
* Ninja Combat
* Nam 75
* World Heroes
* Sengoku 1
* Burning Fight

Just played Aggressors of Dark Kombat. I like it, it's a unique fighting game. However, if you play it, remember to mute the TV! MY EARS!!! AAAAH!

One of the most overlooked fighters......is Breakers...but if you like that one.....get Breakers Revenge.....

Also some fun obscure titles....

Neo Bomberman
Money Puzzle Exchanger
Zupapa
Neo Driftout
NITD

That's about the ones I can think of that aren't a "Franchise" Game....

league bowling and Super Dodgeball!!

but seriously, any game outside of the fighting genre would be considered obscure to the general public since SNK is best known for their fighters. when i think of metal slug, i dont think neo geo, i just remember it as an arcade game. when i think of fatal fury, you easily associate it with neo geo.

Windjammers: It's not so obscure to Neo fandom, but the average person has NO idea what you're talking about if you mention it. It has some of the best non-fighting versus play ever. It deserves a sequel on a "newer" system to get it more exposure.

Magical Drop 3: One of the best damn puzzle games ever made, if more than a tad imbalanced. The PSX port is also very good. Beats the living hell out of Puzzle Bobble.

Blue's Journey: 2-player simultaneous 2D platforming goodness. I wish they'd made a sequel.

Cyber-Lip: Primitive, but oh so fun... :)

crossed swords: is boring all by yourself, but with a friend the game is fun for hours.

king of the monsters: one of my favorite neo games. i used to pump countless quarters into it down at an arcade called "top games", but they closed down. and noone will sell me the home cart version.

metal slug X: it sounds like a common one, but it suprises me how many people only think there was one metal slug made. as most arcades around here only have/had ms1 or ms2. but msX is my all time favorite one.

Here are some obscure (albeit good) titles to add to the list:

Ninja Masters (The best weapon-based fighter since Samurai Shodown IMHO)

Neo Mr. DO (Fun and addictive)

Overtop (Great racing game)

Zintrick (The strangest puzzle game on Neo-Geo)
