Has had most KOF games one year after another?
I did. But they started at 95 and stopped at 2000.
Anyone else?

Shit man, does anyone have an arcade near them? I think most all arcades local to me closed down years ago. I've been stuck with a local bowling alley... however they do carry an Irritating maze cab.

The last local place that had an MVS cabinet with fighting games was the video game shop that I bought my old AES machine from; I remember playing KOF'94 and SS2 there when they were released. Unfortunately, that place closed down in '96.

These days, there are a TON of MVS cabs around (mostly 1-slot), and they all seem to be running Bust-A-Move.

You know, I brought this up a long time ago, but it was never answered... I had forgotten about it until now. I remember going to Martha's Vineyard a couple of years ago, and at the "country's oldest carousel" they had a 4 slot. There is one game in there that I never found out what it was. It was a sidescrolling airplane shooter where you were one of those old timer planes... but the game was cartoony, not serious. The colors were bright. I think you were shooting hot air balloons or something like that. I suppose it could have just been a 4 slot cab, with a jamma game inside instead... but I'm pretty sure they had MVS games in the other 3 slots.

at my local pizza hut, they have a 4-slot cab with Metal Slug 1 (missing marquee), World heroes, league bowling, and i forget what the other one was.

i know there's a neo cab at this japanese grocery store (might've been a 3 or 4 cab, one of the games is Double Dragon) and a taco shop that had metal slug 1.

outside of those 3 there aren't too many neo cabs around.

Yeah, arcades are on the downside. Most arcades here in SATX (San Antonio Texas) are either devoted "Diversions" game rooms that still have the same games they had back in 1996 when I graduated highschool, with a few new stuff, like the one on San Perdro Rd. There is a 1-Slot MVS with Sengoku 3, and one of the machines is running KOF 2001... other than that however, and it's the other kind of arcade. Ones in the shopping malls like TILT or CYBERZONE that mostly carry the DDR stuff and more amusement rides than stand alone uprights

Guess in about 6 years the arcades I remember where 85% of the place was uprights with the rest being novelty/pinball/amusment rides will be a thing of the past forever. But there's hope, I'm looking into opening up an Arcade Muesum possibly in South Padre Island in the future, where drunk ass teens and others of the Storm Riding (nomads and adventuerers with little responsiblitlies) people can walk in and play from over 60 uprights that will be maintained by me. BUT since I can't stay in one place... maybe I'll just forget the idea and pass it on to someone who can sit still.

Anyhow that's the scene on my end here in the Republic.

tru dat if i ever see an old-skool machene its running either bust-a-move or bust-a-move again.

believe it or not i have never ever seen any metal slug games in the arcades.

i know they have a 1 slot running KOF2k1 over at the university for $1 per play. but the guys at the university are mostly keen on importing the latest and greatest $8000 DDR games and such. although they do have a super puzzle fighter 2 turbo for 25 cents a play.

Well, I know one that had from '97 - 2001 so far...

I'm sure the one downtown had all of them...It still has a SS2, a SS3, and a '98 tucked away in the back...

Seeing how I live in the Rio Grande Valley, all I can say is that I would definitely make the drive down there and support the place if it comes into existence. :D

I hear ya all, I know of one Neo cabinet with a 6 slot in it, running Shock Troopers, Fatal Fury 2, Turf Masters, Puzzle Bobble and a couple of others.

I always play on it when I can.

They have even got rid of one of my favourite adcade games....

Theres a ton of arcades around where I live that have had all the KOF games. Chinatown fair is the best one (except for them damn chickens). Theres also little VCD and porn shops in area that always carry the newest games.

Chinatown Fair. Started at KOF94 and is getting KOF2k2 this week. Still has KOF95 and 96 in one of the cabs, too. Also, has tons of other SNK games. I remember one time when he put AOF back in of the cabs and had LB2 in another one.

I asked the local manager why we only had '98. He said that he used to have two KOF machines. One for the newest and one for the year before that. The problem was that at '98, after a few weeks with '99, everyone went back to '98. Then the same with '00, until he HAD to put '98 back out.

He bought '01, tried it out, saw that it was like 99 and 00 and sent it back. I don't even think he's gonna bother with '02. He just says that '98 was the last good one.

Now we only have one KOF machine, with '98 in it. That's been there since I got here.

The amusement hall in my city is forced to get its KOF every year if it wants the money to roll right in. It had every KOF since 97.

There hasn't been a new KOF here since '96... and I know of only one MVS cabinet in the whole city. It's in a laundromat, of all places. It has SS4 and Bust-a-Move. Bleah.
