How GOOD is Radiant Silvergun????

Im thinking of purchasing this game but it is VERY expensive and hard to find. My favorite shooter to this date is Giga Wing 2. Can anyone tell me why Radiant Silvergun is so good? Is there anything you don't like?I have never played the game.

I think RS is a fantastic shooter. I'm a bit concerned about you not liking the game though. GW2 is so much different in overall pace and gameplay that I'm not sure RS would be your thing. RS is a much slower pace game, with a different feel. I'm not sure I can describe it, but it has little in common with GW2. I haven't really been able to enjoy the DC shooters too much.

My opinion is that RS is one of the best Saturn shooters. RS isn't slow but you'll need strategy to play, not just shoot shoot shoot. Plus combination of buttons will have different fire power.
RS is quite long........
I like the bosses in the later stages.....very creative......

My advice is to find one at the best price you can and GET IT! If Radiant Silvergun were a Neo Geo shooter I would pay over $500 for it if I had to. <IMG SRC="smilies/loco.gif" border="0"> Thankfully it's not that much yet. <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0"> Radiant Silvergun uses both the processors in the Saturn to great effect. I have seen warping and perspective effects in Radiant Silvergun I have not seen in any other game. The gameplay is great and the bonus incentives allow for increased ship powerups you can save which in turn allow you to get further in the game. Radiant Silvergun is up there with Pulstar, Blazing Star, ect... <IMG SRC="smilies/tickled.gif" border="0">

I'd say it is very good, but not my favourite on Saturn. *ducks incoming flames*

It can seem slower paced in parts compared to newer shooters, and in quite a few places out-does DoDonPachi in flooding the screen with bullets - just becomes an exercise in dodging.
SS and Laserblast are right, the design and effects are some of the best seen on Saturn.

I do like it, but I play Battle Garegga, Hyper Duel and TFV a whole lot more. Can't put my finger on why <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Radiant Silvergun is definitely amongst the top 10 Saturn shooters.

It has really good graphics, stunning effects and deep gameplay (For a shooter).

Is it worth the $130+ it goes for on eBay? Well, if you want to have all the best shooters, then hell yeah.

But IMO, Battle Garegga is the untouched best on the saturn. With Soukyugourentai, Dodonpachi, Shienryu and Sengoku Blade on it's heels.

It's nice. If there's one thing I don't like, it's how the combo system works. You shoot enemies of one color and let the other ones pass? Ehhh...

Still, it's very good- but I'd make sure to have Soukyugurentai in my collection first.

I just played Soukyugurentai at my friend's apt and here is what I think:

1) level too short
2) you have no fuckin idea what's going on on the screen. Too many things on the screen at once.
3) Bosses aren't very impressive.
4) Beat the whole game in Level 8 and final boss isn't impressive.

I'll not pay more than $30 for that shit

It's a cool game, and it's only expensive on eBay and not that hard to find. I got my copy used for about 35 bucks.
