I dunno how relevant their rarity is. They are just made with standard arcade parts, easy to have one made.

Thanks for the reply...It's not that exact one, i just got the picture for reference, surely they are worth more than that, I was under the impression they were quite rare.

anyone can make one.

That's a MAS Systems pro stick. You can still buy them brand new at Arcadeshock. It's like a $200 stick new.

I remember when MAS use to sell those for, what, around $100? Maybe a bit less?

They used to have an old school stick that was pretty cheap, i would see them for $100 all the time. This was back in the late nineties i think. I would probably throw down a $100 on one, that's about what it would cost to build one.

Surely in all sales rarety adds to value due to limited availability, i'm sure there are plently of games that are considered more valuable in finiancial terms not because they are nessecerily great games but because they are few and far between...the same with cars, something like an escort cosworth isn't the greatest rally going road car but it holds its money far better than any of its revals because of its limited numbers.

My friend has one and it's not the most comfy stick. the edge has this plastic moulding which is irritating on your wrists. You can probable make one that's better quality for half the price.

I've had wooden sticks like this in the past and I'll agree with you on the wrist comfort issue, I would take one if it was fairly cheap though.

Worth? $75. Actually sell for? $100-150.

They are big and bulky and you are better off modding a stick or having one made to your liking if you are going to spend that much money.

Does anyone on the forums mod sticks to Neo Geo format? Would modding something like a Mad Catz Tournament Edition stick be possible?

You can mod anything to Neo format. There's a bunch of guys here that make custom sticks as well as guys on SRK. The prettier the stick the higher the price it seems. If you just buy an old dreamcast fighting stick or PS2/PS1 blah blah then you can just rewire it to Neo Geo or you can just buy a PS2 to Neo converter and plug it in to the Neo.

+1

I've messed around with the NEO MAS sticks before. They look cool. But, don't quite capture the feel of a BIG RED NEO Arcade Control Panel.

MAS Sticks used to go for $150~$160 back in the day, before they were discontinued. Now, they go for about $200 (+/- shipping).

I get to mess around with the CAPCOM MAS sticks this weekend.

I kinda like the MAD-CAT TE Stick design and layout. But, not a big fan of the plastic case and the JP stick (too loose for me) (I still prefer IL Euro sticks).
