I was lucky enough to slowly step up the drill bits unti I was close to the size of the s-video port, then took a razor blade and started takin out a little material here and there until I was able to push it in (with a lot of force). I don't think the port is goin anywhere and if anything I would use krazy glue to secure the jack, not "hot drakon jizz"

Hot glue is actually better than crazy glue for these applications. Crazy glue fumes will adhere to oil from fingerprints on the plastic and it's a bitch to get it off.

Wow, that does look quite elegant, nice job. What are those two switches on the back for btw.?

Thanks! I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. The two switches were going to be for an audio attenuation circuit but they're not wired to anything right now since it seems to be working fine without it. I just switch one on when my friends come over and say it helps me beat their ass in games better :p

Wow, that's beautiful! Where did you find the connector for the DB9 cables? I want to make my own adaptor for kick harnesses, but I'd like to find something that provides a nice clean look like that.

The DB9 hood for the end that connects to the supergun was purchased locally at Frys Electronics. Here's a link to it on their site: http://www.frys.com/product/1910474

You should be able to find some similar ones on Mouser under D-Sub Backshells.

Did a genny S-Video mod with a friend last night. Had to use a piece of veroboard ;)

here is the plan

Everythig goes back to the IC, cleaner than wires everywhere.

notice the proper use of hot glue ;)

this is why it took us 3 hours lol

My old crt doesn't have SVIDEO in, so I had to test it on my 60" DLP. Hard to take a good pic, but pixels are really sharp. Can't wait to see what it looks like on a CRT and after a few adjustments on those chroma & luma pots.

I did the same circuit on a perf board without the pots. Used the schematic at jamma-nation-x and from what I can tell is awesome

I recently put some SF:WW art on an HS1 cabinet I have. Have to move on to the wiring soon, but I'd rather not think about it.

yeah the default resistance values looks really good, so pots may be overkill :D

Stupid question, but with where you mounted the board and the pots, are the adjustable via the cartridge slot, or do you have to pop the case off?

Thanks.

I only got me some Bubble Bobble boards recently ;). Plugs in the top board only.
I have a few more adapters coming in soon. MVS to JAMMA and Capcom Classic. And Ill probably do adapters for other systems too as I need thme or if the interest is there.

naaa, you still have to pop the top. which I'm going to have to do in order lift pin 50 off the VDP , as it will fix the jailbar problem.

In case of the Megadrive 1 jailbar problem, if it's the VDP pin 50 you are trying to lift, just remove the cap marked C28.

humm, looks like this fix is for a RGB only mod. Pin 50 is the ntsc/pal sub-channel AKA color !! therefore, no good for a s-video mod. Can anyone confirm ?

Repaired a 2nd Bubble Bobble PCB. Damn this game is fun, been eating up pretty much all my free time.

Let me know how far you get on 1cc. Are you also swapping the resistors on the RGB lines?
