Idiot presses panic button: LAPD confronts Call of Duty 'Ghost' statue in tense standoff

When I first read the headline, I assume the LAPD had a Boston-Mooninite kind of scare (which, in light of the Marathon bombing, isn't as funny as it was then). But the article paints them in a better light: apparently an independent game studio in LA got a realistic-looking COD statue:

And some idiot pressed the office's panic button to see what would happen.

LAPD sees the statue and, thankfully IMO, reacts to a gunman:

They yelled at the figure; "hands behind your back", but it wasn't well articulated.

If this incident had happened close to that manhunt a few months ago, their office would have been ridden with bullet holes.

They have a panic button for armed threats? Seriously? Like, dude you didn't put in that BFG gun as a downloadable bonus and you have paid DLC on disc so we're going to threaten you? These guys sound just a tad bit paranoid. They should just install a panic room.
