For those who are unaware of the Kinniku Man series it's basically an Intergalactic Professional Wrestling Manga, what's cool about it is it enjoyed a small cult following in the US during the mid to late 80's under the name M.U.S.C.L.E. Tiny pink wrestlers who came packaged in garbage cans.

VERY COOL on both levels

A little M.U.S.C.L.E. Background.

Much like the Robotech games...I never seem to get excited for them unless they are new as there are like 10 of them out and I don't own one ....BUT GameCube baby...GameCube!

Oh no! Is this the best the Gamecube can do?! O lordy, lordy, lordy..

This wouldn't happen to be the long awaited sequel to M.U.S.C.L.E. on the NES, would it?

Gawd save us all!

I mean, there is hardcore, and then there is HARDCORE. This hardcore is the kind of hardcore that we only apply to porn or hentai or something like that.

Sorry, not for me.

Those things were so cool. I saw the blurb about this in magicbox and scrolled right past it without looking. Oh well, next time

Perhaps thankfully, I've never played the NES game. Is it really as bad as it looks? Surely nothing can be THAT bad can it?

Hey I loved those little guys! Do you know how many forging battles and raging wars I had with M.U.S.C.L.E?

Too many!

They were almost as cool as "Battle Beast"....

Well, I'll be on the lookout... "NUMBAH WAHN!!"

ROCK-ON!!!!!

I love Kinniku-man!!! I never played with the little action figures myself, but I've been a fan of the manga and anime for YEARS.
Kinniku-Man, 2nd Generations is going to be animated SOON, too!!! The manga is really really good, but yes a little weird

Mighty fine links there. Remember the cool as hell 8 figure box set of Battle Beast?

They sure don't make it these days like they used to.

BTW, that giraffe Beast was a giant among Battle Beasts! He was one of my favorites and commanding leader of the good team.

It was covered well in other sites I saw. They even had a picture from a Japanese Transformers episode where the autobots are talking to a Battle Beast! (proof of their co-existance). Apparently the had autobot/decepticon designations before the whole wood-water-fire thing.

Did you remember the names? Here's each Battle Beast along with the amusing names they gave them:
