If you own a truck, fucking people are ALWAYS wanting to borrow it. Solution? Get a manual. Which you should do anyway. As to whoever made the argument about automatics getting better gas mileage, who fucking cares?

Easier solution?

Tell them to fuck off.

No. Three point seat belts aren't particularly secure. With most modern cars, it's fine since bucket seats are shaped to your body so with a seat belt you aren't moving anywhere. With a bench seat, take that left turn too fast and you'd be sliding all over the place.

Of course, if you're in a car with that kind of seating it's probably not built for taking a turn that quickly.

On thing that I really like about my Ram is the way the front seating is done. Funny enough, I think it is far more "truck like" than their high tier models.

Mine 1500 Express looks like this:

The center console has aux/USB hookups and cup holders but also folds up offering a 3'd seat option if need be (with a designated seat belt).

The upper tier models look like this:

Typical "cockpit" design. As strange as it sounds, I much prefer my setup to that.
