Hi all just wondering if anyone can help? I switched on my mvs cabinet today and it wouldn't turn on, there was no power going into it at all. So I thought it might be the fuse in the plug. So I checked the fuse which was a 5 amp fuse and replaced it. When I switched the cabinet back on I heard a popping sound from the cabinet and it blew the fuse and it dosen't work at all. I'm also still having problems with the monitor flickering randomly, I can play sometimes 10 min sometimes for over an hour before the monitor flickers, it's all really starting to piss me off now.

Sounds as if the monitors power supply stage has failed.

Do you know a local freindly TV repair guy ?

I've managed to get the power working again, I put a 13 amp fuse in and it's working however, from time to time the monitor still flickers. I have been looking for an arcade technician in my area (Scotland) to have a look at it but just can't find one anywhere.

13 amp??

Replacing a sensible fuse with an absolutely ridiculous one is not solving the problem, it's dangerous and should never be done under any circumstances.

You don't necessarily need to find someone who specialises in arcade machines, any competent TV technician will be able to do the repair for you. An arcade monitor is no different to a TV apart from the lack of a tuner.

Yeah thanks for the info. That's exactly what I'm gonna do, get a TV technician to have a look at it. It's funny though because when the monitor does flicker, if I slightly dim the contrast a little bit it works fine for a while, really strange.
