MVS-6 Slot Board

Hey Guys, first of all awesome site, Its nice to see many many many people interested in neo-geo Games.

Anywho... Cant seem to find any info on the forum past the firts pages, apparently the pages go up to 250 something but all display the same on my PC.

to the point --> I Just bought a NEO GEO 6 SLOT MVS ARCADE BOARD (MOTHERBOARD) with a US Bios and a Japanese Bios as well. Obviously I am new to this hooby and wanted to know besides a cabinet (which I am already building) and Control buttons etc.

What else do I need to buy In order to be able to play; any special parts that I need to build or buy.

Probably this has been asked before many times but I cant find it on the forum, need to get my pc fixed first I guess.... anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Probably have not read it wight, but Its a bit vage. there is a section stating to create a Power supply for a MVS-1 board or 2 slot but will it work with with my MVS-6 I ve wrote to the guy but no answer.

You will need a powersupply you can use the same powersupply that a 2 slot uses. This is the perfered one: http://www.happcontrols.com/powersupplies/80007200.htm

You will need a Jamma harness from this guy: (he is very very very trust worthy) http://www.dameon.net/BBBB/parts.html

Also you will need to build a Jamma to MVS connecter: http://www.hardmvs.com/html/jammaAdapt.htm
You can actually just make a MVS harness instead of ordering a Jamma harness, but having the Jamma wiring would give you some added flexibility down the road.

Maybe a speaker or two and of course a monitor.


Parts wise I think thats it. It may seem over whelming, but your only looking at about a days worth of work tops after you finish the cab and control panel.

I found a ay to make the jamma harness should I make it or you tthink its better if I buy it allready build?

I agree, Its better to build it my main concern is;

is ti the right power source to build.?

I would get the power supply from happs. I have other power supplys and they give me trouble. You get lines in the monitor even with a filter on the AC line and it still messess up the DC signg from the mobo on the cheaper power supplys.

I also have a 1 slot that will only workwith the happs kind of supply. For some reason the video sink gets f up with a cheep power supply.
