Try again with the stock bios + deadalus but make sure the NeoSD settings are set to bios first. You dont want it in MVS mode on an AES without unibios.

This seems to be the default.

These are my (untouched) settings...

System Mode = BIOS
Region = BIOS
Arcade Mode = NO
Save/Restore Back RAM = YES

All of them are greyed out and can't be changed. Probably because UniBIOS has been detected. And with the stock BIOS, I don't get into the menu.

I could try to force to use AES.

yes, try force aes.

Just grabbed my 1-slot MVS and tried on a Sega cab. Ironically, it also has UniBIOS installed and doesn't let me change those options. :D

Now only 2 options are greyed out...

System Mode = BIOS
Region = BIOS

Seems I'm unable to do it.

what happens on aes+stock bios/deadelus if you hold start button from power on?

Hello,

If NEOSD detects UNIBIOS, it wont let you change those options, thats why you have those in grey

Thanks

For those who got it here in the US, did your tracking information ever show it was delivered?

Very good! Thanks Raz. :buttrock:

This works with the Daedalus (doesn't help with the Fusion).

So, this is my updated AES converter test result...

Code:
+--------------------+--------------------------------+--------------------------------+
| | Original BIOS | UniBIOS 3.1 |
+--------------------+-------------+------------------+-------------+------------------+
| | NeoSD Menu | Run Flashed Game | NeoSD Menu | Run Flashed Game |
+--------------------+-------------+------------------+-------------+------------------+
| Daedalus Converter | WORKS (*) | WORKS | WORKS | WORKS |
+--------------------+-------------+------------------+-------------+------------------+
| Fusion Converter | Not Working | WORKS | Not Working | WORKS |
+--------------------+-------------+------------------+-------------+------------------+

(*) Hold START while powering on. Flash the game and put BOOT MODE to GAME (NeoSD Options). Turn the AES off/on to start the game. Thanks Raz for your help.

PS: Hope the shell arrives soon. Inserting those PCBs into converters is a real pain. ;)

That's great. Just wanted to add that while running the MVS NeoSD on an AES / deadalus (or other converter) you'll probably want to make sure the backupRAM save feature is disabled/off.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, for those with AES only, it can't be changed.

Here's a summary of the disabled (greyed out) NeoSD options. Those are all factory (first batch, first firmware) defaults.

AES with UniBIOS

System Mode = BIOS
Region = BIOS
Arcade Mode = NO
Save/Restore Back RAM = YES

AES with stock BIOS

System Mode = BIOS
Arcade Mode = NO
Save/Restore Back RAM = YES

MVS with UniBIOS

System Mode = BIOS
Region = BIOS

I don't have a stock BIOS MVS. I assume all options are changeable there.

Maybe it would make sense, to (factory) default that backup RAM save feature to NO.

Yes your right it would but lets remember using a converter is not officially supported. Its great it does appear usable (with being able to flash) on at least one converter though until the full AES version is released.

Good news for Daedalus' owners

I'm not surprised that the converter is working better with unibios .

When i tried neosd with my magic key, i got a totally scrambled menu but i noticed fille1976 with the same converter and a unibios had a less scrambled screen, at least all the back of the menu appeared .

Anyway, i sold my magic key converter , installed an unibios from Raz and ordered a neosd AES for my console , the best thing to do in my case for sure :)

PS : yoshi41 should try kof 2003 and SVC on his converter

Still waiting on mine and the tracking number still doesn't show it even entering the US.

Mine never tracked either. My postman just showed up with it one day, hooking their horn for me to come outside to sign for it.

Same here..Correos tracking *sucks*, it is not even recognized by USPS system (usualky foreing shipments appear tgere after entering US)

7€ shipment is cheap, but I strongly suggest to give people more than one option...like a fedex, faster and trackable.

In the case of the Cart Shells, I don't mind if those are shipped a slower, untracked method (a la unregistered SAL).

Mine showed up today, never bothered to track it, trusted in the smoke signals. Probably will wait to mess with it til the shell shows up.

I just got my NeoSD in the mail today, and finally got it to work correctly kind of. It appears to draw quite a lot of power. I kept trying it in both of my motherboards and it kept going right to the cross hatch screen. Just a word of warning to others if this happens to you, try bumping the voltage up to 5.1V. That's what did the trick for me.

I also noticed on this stock bios AOF3 glitched and rebooted mid fight on my MV1FS stock bios. Will have to test further, and with other games yet.

I can confirm these cards and mother boards working so far:
regular sandisk 8 gb card
16gb sandisk extreme pro

motherboards:

MV1FS stock bios: working
Mv1FZS unibios 3.0 & neoBiosMasta: not working, boot to cross-hatch screen

cabs:
Astro City
Egret II

I still have more things to test, not sure why its not booting on the MV1FZS. I'll have to try pulling the neobiosMasta.

Low power = crosshatch screen

Hello,

From what you say, i would try another PSU, no one has reported such issues and we never had those aswel.
I can confirm NEOSD works fine with 4,92V, you may be having voltage issues. And no, NEOSD dosent draws more power than 161 in 1 for example.

Thanks

It looks like you are correct. My original voltage must have been lower than the 4.9v you tested at. Both original carts and 161 in 1 worked fine for me. Bumping it up just over 5v fixed it.

I ran a voltage test and both original carts and neoSD had a voltage under load on my cab at 5.05v. the 161 in 1 was running at 5.03v-5.04v. Base voltage with mobo was 5.07v

Tested both games for a couple of rounds. They work fine.

Hell, that SVC game feels so strange, if you're used to SF. Like a car with the handbrake on. :D
