Just got a cheap 5.1 speaker set that has a digital decodifier with optic and coaxial inputs. I want to hook my PC to it for movies, that has an optical output. However I'm not sure if I'm activating it right, as in the AC97 program I got, if I select 5.1 output it does it through the 3 mini-jacks (green, blue, pink).

Is there any way to make sure it is activated through the digital output? Or a program to test it?

Thanks.

PS: Kernow, if (when) you post, at least try to say something useful, OK?

Sure amano , how about this?

decodifier = decoder

Yeah, actually in Spanish you can also call it "descodificador", it's the same.

Well, looks like I solved the problem installing AC3filter. Still I would like a program that allows to test a sound from each speaker separately, but it's not that important.

check the software that came with your sound card. if you dont see the software or cant find the option, check the wesite for 1. if it supports it and 2. update to latest driver
