Need wiring supplies for -5v

Last week my Neo 29 arrived from A-I. I have a Hyper 64 board on order that I am going to put in this cab.
I'm assuming I'll need the -5v line wired into the Jamma harness?
I need to get some terminals, but I can't find what I need at the local electronic stores. I'm hoping somebody will hook me up with a place to order this stuff from and I'm also not really sure what I need.

First off I need two Jamma pins. I found these at Happ controls.

For use with all Molex female connectors with .156 centers
Wire sizes 18 to 24 AWG
Ref. no. 08-50-0106

Are these what I want for the Jamma pins?

Secondly, all the wiring from the psu has molex connectors, but they all have square pins.
<a href="http://home.adelphia.net/~stephan/terminals%20005.jpg" target="_blank">Here's</a> a picture of what I'm talking about. I'm going to need a square female terminal.
I found these also at Happ's. Anyone know if this is what I need?

Female terminal, 18-24 AWG
Molex ref. no. 39-00-0039

I really don't want to go blindly ordering stuff to see if it is the correct item, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will only need the -5 volts for certain jamma boards like the Williams/Midways Smash TV,NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat series, etc. Rastan/Nastar uses it also I think

Most jamma board sets do not require it.

MVS does not use -5 volts.

But does the Hyper 64 board need the -5 volts? That's what I'm gonna run in this cab.

Here is a <a href="http://www.daddelkingz.de/manuals/Hyper_64_english.pdf" target="_blank">LINK</a> to a pdf that is of the Hyper 64 manual (look at page 2 of the pdf for this info).

According to it, the Hyper 64 needs to a psu that is capable of supplying at least 10 amps on the +5 volt rail, and at least 1 amp on both the +12 and -5 volt rails.

I was under the impression that the Hyper64 didn't need the -5 volt rail, but according to that it does.

I assumed the idea was for an arcade operator to simply swap the mvs board for a hyper. Not requiring the extra rail.

I wasn't sure if it needed the -5 or not. I was just gonna wire it up to have it there if I ever needed it in the future.
It shouldn't be a problem wiring it up if I can just get the terminals I need.

No harm connecting it, who knows you may want to plug in a MKombat2 boarset at some stage. Looks like the Hyper64 may need it anyway.

Ok so where do I get a square female molex terminal like I have pictured in the link from my original post and I want to make sure when I order the jamma pins that I'm ordering the correct item.

Not sure, Happ I guess.
Why not hard wire with solder connections.
Briggs is into connect kits, there are links to Happ and Rob Roberts there

That is what you will probably have to do. That connector is not a Molex and not an Amp. I have not been able to find those anywhere in the states, so you may have to hard wire it unless you want to replace both sides with a standard Molex connector. frown

Add the -5v. The Hyper will run without it, but not for long or at least is my understanding I am not going to try it with my Hyper to find out. I am with Briggs on this one I have needed that connector myself and I can not find one at all. Good luck and happy gaming.

I just talked to a technician at Happs. He said the same thing, that I'm not gonna find one of those square terminals. So I will hard wire the -5 there.
Happs is hooking me up with a free sample of Jamma pins, so I'll be all set....if my Hyper board ever gets here annoyed

Thanks for helping me out guys, I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions in the future as I'm learning all this cab related stuff.

Checked the pdf Broken posted, the -5 from the edge connect can be traced (page 10 & 11) to an op amp which drives the audio output IC, probably a HA13001 like on the mvs boards.

Therefore no -5 = no sound on a hyper 64.
