the original casing of the mvs isn't made of antistatic plastic either. unless you rub it like mad with a soft cloth, nothing's gonna happen. same with carpet. I've had boards laying on the carpet all over, while playing or not, and nothing happens unless you actually do something to charge yourself or the plastic/boards.

Soldering on the edge connector. ^^;; Wouldn't it be better to use a jamma connector? That way you could still use it in a real cabinet.

it still works in a real cab this way, there's enough space left. that's why I soldered to the very bottom of the edge connector. using a jamma plug would've been a lot more messy.
