Aside from the Neo Geo MVS and the Sega Naomi Series I and II--and the upcoming X-Box version, are there other cartridge-based arcade systems currently on the market producing current games. I know their was the ST-V system, a system from Taito, and maybe a few others in the past, but none have come close to producing the number of quality games as the Neo Geo MVS and Sega Naomi. It was said on playmeter.com that the new Brezzasoft title that was suspected to be a MVS title at one time, Crystal of Kings, is going to be played on a new cartridge based system from Brezzasoft. Apple Industries is going to be distributing the system in the U.S.--Could Brezzasoft and Apple Industries connections with SNK mean that Brezzasoft could look to purchase SNK licenses and produce new games on a new cartridge based platform?? I thought Brezzasoft was supposed to have some involvement in future Neo titles such as Metal Slug 4 or others. Apple Industries promises more Neo Geo games after KOF 2001--maybe they will be on a new, updated system--maybe what could be called the "MVS 2", which has been rumored for some time. It would be nice to see the Neo Geo get a hardware update. It would be great to see a new MVS hardware set-up and even better if it were backward compatible for old MVS games. Just speculation, but it would be nice.

And also the Nintendo Vs. System.

It was neat having two cabinets joined together like this- you could link together two Vs. Tennis games for 4P play, or you could have two different games- play Super Mario Bros. on one side, then go over to the other side for some Goonies.

Slalom on the Vs. System was kinda neat. This was Nintendo's deluxe game for the system that came with a ski controller- I've seen it set on 2 tokens instead of the 1 that most Vs. titles use.

I hated PC10 myself because of the damn timer. The PC10 versions of Duck Hunt & Hogan's Alley weren't as good- in HA, you could pick either the can-shooting stage or the target game, but you were stuck in it for the whole game.

Don't forget the awesome Seibu SPI System, cartridge mounted to a motherboard and interchangable, 4 games total on the hardware:

Viper Phase 1
Raiden Fighters
Raiden Fighters 2
Raiden Fighters Jet

Covered here among many other systems:
http://kmfdm40.tripod.com/systems2.htm

Some of the best shooters ever made, no question.

Also, I came across this site today about the RF games and several others:
http://www.alamone.com/

For anyone who has a fast connection, check out the gameplay MPEG movies of the Raiden Fighters games, DoDonpachi, and Radiant Silvergun. The MPEGs range from about 10MB up to 40MB each, so be aware of that. But the shooter footage is AWESOME!

Wow, good find on this site chimpmeister! These Raiden Fighters Jet strategies look awesome! I've been really getting into that lately, now I find out my score of 36 million by Phase-1 is pretty bad. Oh well.
