I'm planning on getting a MVS system w/ a cabinet. I was wondering if there is a way to change the difficulty of the games. I'd also like to know how to change the region setting and switch between AES version and MVS version. Please respond. Thanks.

I also want to know how you change the system so you don't have to insert coins. I'm guessing there is a bios menu to change all of these settings. So how do you enter this menu?

You can change the difficulty level and put the cab on freeplay (no coins) in the setup. This is a VERY simple process, just press a button before you turn the power on and you'll be able to fiddle with the options via the on-screen menu. Each game has it's own set of options, but freeplay will apply to all games (it's a dip-switch setting, which is hardware).

Changing from MVS to AES is a little tricker. You have to install a new bios. I reccomend reading http://www.hardmvs.com for more on the bios chips. Hope this helps!

There's 2 ways to enter the Setting Menu:

1. Press the TEST button inside the cab.

2. Flip ON the 1st dip on the motherboard.

From there, you can turn blood on/off, change difficulty, set on free play, ect.

In order to switch between AES and MVS mode, you will need to install a MVS 4X BIOS. Installing it is very easy, no soldering neccesary. Just pop out the old bios, and replace it with this one.
