just got a decent PC up and running again, and i've been out of the loop for a while.
nothing too hardware-crazy (i got amd 2.2 quad-core, nvidia 8500gt, 3gig ram).
but nothing too old (windows 7 still has some problems running some older games).

going to try and find a copy of system shock 2, cause i've heard people raving about that game for years.

mostly just looking for some games to play in my free time, probably not online.
rts, fps, action, whatever.
but looking for stuff that is mostly PC only.

compy doesn't sound all that great, but i can run borderlands, starcraft II, other, newer stuff on slightly lower settings with no problems.

i could never get system shock 2 to work in xp let alone vista or 7.

have you played tf2? its one of the few multiplayer fps's i can get into. and theres this whole new added layer of character persistence they added.

otherwise, sc2 is basically the game to be playing right now.

If your looking for a good fps I'd recommend Crysis.

I know Oblivion and Mass Effect aren't PC exclusives but they're both great.

I got it working 100% with Daemon Tools.

Take a look at Darwinia, the Half-Life 2 series, Team Fortress 2, Portal, the Sam & Max games, the Fallout collection, the Kings Quest collection, and Cave Story. I'd recommend Noitu Love but I can't seem to get it running in full screen or with a controller. Also, the Lord of the Rings MMO is going to be free to play soon.

Planescape Torment. I wish I hadn't sold off my copy years ago, I need to get it again.

Until something better comes along...q3 (and in turn quake live, although it's not as good) is where it's at.

The game I swear by. You don't need a high end system to play.

is the guy constantly jumping, or does that game just have the most retarded view-bob ever?

thanks for the responses guys.
already have/beat half-life 2/portal, all the dawn of war, bioshock, mass effect, fallout 3 goty, SC2, borderlands.
gonna check out the rest.

kinda looking for something i can spend alot of time on, first-person rpgs like fallout or borderlands are pretty awesome, but i'm kinda burnt out on them for now.
a decent rts is a good time waster, but sc2 was way too short (and it's bullshit that you're gonna have to buy the game 3 times to get the whole thing).

what's the most addicting pc game you've played recently?

oh, anyone know of any decent tower-defense for pc?

id say the td maps for wc3, element td is good.

theres also some td maps coming to/already out for sc2, should be cool.

a lot of my friends have been playing league of legends but i hate dota esque games.

if you haven't played tf2 recently though, id rerecommend that.

have you played torchlight?

Defcon is an RTS like Global Thermonuclear War from War Games. I hear the matches can go on forever though.

Looks fucking awesome, can it be played like this or only watched?

It's a combination of q3 visual tweaks + heavy editing. Sadly, you can't get these Tron-like visuals on a client alone.
