SamSho IV this a boot?

Hi, I acquired this cart last year for chump change, the boards match up to what is on MVS scans and chips if I have read the date code correctly are from 95-96 with one thing that doesn't look right there is piggy back board on chip P1. Is this a boot?

It's an authentic cart, but it looks like the P1 was repaired using that chip on the back.

I've seen this before. While it could be a repair, I dont think its an official SNK repair. I think its more likely a "boss hack".

If you have a UniBIOS, do a CRC check of the game.

Thanks completely forgot about the CRC check on the unibios. ROM bank 1 came back as a fail, bit of a dumb question I assume the boss hack increases the boss's difficulty?

No, a boss hack enables the boss/hidden characters to be selected at the character select screen. Is Zankuro selectable when you start the game?

Yeah, certainly not something done by SNK. As mentioned, cart appears to be legit otherwise.
