Are any of these worth anything to collectors? <img src="graemlins/spock.gif" border="0" alt="[Spock]" />

They are good for one thing. <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />

Play them. Then play the real thing on the Neo. You will appreciate the real thing so much more. <img src="graemlins/drool.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool]" />

But you cannot help feeling dirty..... <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

They are only worth what you can get them for.
I have Samurai Showdown, Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury 2, FFS, King of Monsters 2, and World Hero's.
They are pretty much all crap. But I just like to have them.

The only half way decent port on SNES was ART OF FIGHTING , it even had the backward and forward pixel scaling when distance changed . God only knows why they didnt use this tecnique on Samurai Shodown on SNES .

Hey,that FFS-version was not bad at all! <img src="graemlins/spock.gif" border="0" alt="[Spock]" />

Just see you get the jpn-version,the US one lost 3 characters to fit the 32mb game into 24 mb! <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

Don't forget Super Baseball 2020!

That was a decent port, but then again, I haven't played the original Neo version in years so I can barely remember..

I got Art of Fighting 2 not too long ago and it's a blast to play. I don't play them to play what I play in the arcade, I play them to play a 'similar' game, to an extent.

I really liked Fatal Fury on the mega drive

couldn't afford a Neo is those days so i had to buy the stuff on mega Drive + Snes

I thought the AOF on snes sucked big time again i prefered the MD version, it didn't scale in and out but other than that it was okay

:)

Personally I feel that the Genesis version of SS was far superior to the SNES one.

Have you seen Samurai Showdown on the SNES and the genesis right next to each other. You'll change your mind. Check this out.

Gen.gif
Genesis version.
Which looks better? You tell me. I'm sorry but they could have done much better on the SNES version but no... It look simply like crap. And the game play is just the same CRAP. It is the worst port I have seen.

Man.. I remember back in the day when Samurai Shodown first came out for the SNES. I was just happy that I was able to play it at home. Do you people here play video games, or when you get a game do you bring out a pencil and paper and make a huge list about everything that's wrong with it?

I was a lucky one that got SS on the 3D0. Besides a few let downs and horrible voice, it was an OK port. Had all the animation and large characters, but the scaling was choppy and the stages that had roofs when the scaling was at max were all but gone. Aside from the complaints though, I thought it was the best out of the SNES, Gen, and 3D0. I didnt have a neo at the time, so it was wonderful just to play it at home. Never did play the Sega CD version though. Everybody I've talked to has said that the Sega CD version of FFS and SS were among the best.

It is also noted that Fatal Fury Special was a good port on the SegaCD with redbook audio.

One thing also I forgot to mention about the lesser ports of Samurai Shodown on the Genny and SNES is that earthquake is missing on some or all of them .

I guess they just couldnt fit his FAT ASS into the game .

The genesis just plain owned the SNES in 2d fighters. Fatal Fury 1 and 2, Samurai Showdown, World Heroes, Super Street Fighter 2, Art of Fighting, all those games were better on the megadrive. Way back when, My friend owned a SNES and I owned the genesis, and we always got the same games and compared them alot to each other, that was fun as hell. I was shocked as hell though when the SNES managed to pull of Street Fighter Alpha 2 as good as it did. The sega would have handled it better.

i played the hell out of fatal fury 2 on the
snes. it was pretty good.
to play. not on the thumbs though.
when i was younger it wasnt that bad.
and really its still not.
but anyways i was just happy to play it on
something. my arcade was too far away to go to
other than a few special occasions.
it was gold back then.
i remember.
played area 88 and final fight and fatal fury special.
man. talk about the good old days.
when you really looked forward to go to the arcade.
now i only go there to hang out.
its getting boring now. i think i m going to take up bowling.
thats fun.
o and i never got the sam sho game on snes.
i do have it on my genny though.
hella fun. and the aof on the genny is super.
you can play as anyone in two player mode.
and for some reason i enjoyed it more than the original aof on the NEO.
anyways.
yea.
bowling.

He's missing in the Genesis version yes. The Super NES and (believe it or not) Game Boy versions have him. The Game Gear version does not. But you can play as Amakusa in the Genesis version in versus mode, and with a code on the GG version.

It should also be noted that he's missing in the Sega CD version, which is inexcusable considering there should have been more than enough room on the CD. Seems like Takara (I believe it was them) simply upgraded the Genesis version for that platform.
