soldered bios replacement...

I'm looking at a MV-1C or MV-1B pcb. Assuming that there's room for a socket, would it be possible to replace a soldered bios with a socketed one? Has anyone done this?

Yup, perfectly doable.

It's some pretty indepth soldering work though, so I wouldn't attempt it unless you're very good with an iron.

Takes some soldering skill to do, if you aren't confident I would PM Jeff Kurtz for a quote as he does the mod for a very reasonable fee. His SN is JMKurtz.

Good point. Not sure that I'm that good with an iron yet. Are there any website you know of to teach me how to do it right?
