Most folks will probably play this on an Xbox 360 or the Steam/PC version. If playing the 360 release, please select 'Xbox 360' mode.

All ports including PS2, Xbox 360 and PC are accepted.

If anyone wants to submit scores for the Matsuri 1.5 mode available as DLC please be sure to indicate that's the version you played.

I'm just doing score tables for original and maniac difficulties by default, but if there is interest in ultra I'll get an additional table or two added.

Think of it as motivation. That's usually how I view it. Watch some play throughs and just take some time to sit down with the game. Not like KP just started playing this game.

Bit of an improvement, lost like three lives to the damn stage 4 dragons though. Going to have to practice that section a bunch.

This game is kicking my ass. Haven't been able to put up anything decent score-wise. I'll try to get something up next week.

If anyone wants me to post my playthrough I can, I'm not a super player but it can give you some good ideas of how to handle areas.

I'd value that Panda, it would be fun to see your route.

I dunno if many noobs are around and having trouble on here, but I found this guide (see the PDF) that helped me out with really basic danmaku/pattern strategy (mostly fairly obvious stuff, but some interesting revelations).

My main mistakes when I first started were moving around way too much (messing up a lot of aimed patterns) and bomb-hoarding.
The steam community 'scoring guide' is pretty well written too.

Will try to practice this weekend and get some scores up :B

Nice, will check it out shortly. Made it to TLB today but only had one bomb and no extra lives. Needless to say I didn't get the clear. Will post up my new score though later.

Interested to see how you handle the dragons on stage 4. That section kicks my ass and I always seem to needlessly lose a couple lives but I need those for the last boss.

BTW do you go for trace or formation? Seems like Type S is recommended for original mode.

Type S has high speed but you need to know where enemies spawn in general. I try to always do formation especially with S.

Right on, thanks! Got within an inch of the clear today, but the last attack from the boss is pretty killer. Definitely need to go into the fight with at least 3 bombs and plan them well.

Thanks pal. We can only learn with the Panda, not compare to him :lolz:

This is the truth.

Made some progress:

egg_sanwich - 6,988,118 - stage 5 - s Type - pcb

I’m finding the S Type to be much more efficient at killing the big stuff, which leads to more bullet cancels, which is the best way to manage the bullet count in later stages.

Also, don’t forget the 1-up in stage 3 by destroying both arms of the big bug before the head. I often find myself bombing here, but better than missing the 1-up.

Sweet! Yeah I almost always bomb for the stage 3 1up, definitely worth 1-2 bombs if you don't get killed and claim it.

So glad it isn't like the Ketsui stage 3 midboss 1up where you can't bomb or you don't collect! That one is pretty rough.

In this game stage 3 and stage 4 are definitely the hardest levels IMO, random deaths on those will tank a run.
