Rebuilding my supergun and replacing the old socket i made with the Neo AV out.

Now i can't remember if i needed the 5v or not. The supergun will be going to a RGB TV via scart if that makes any difference.

Would i have to put a resistor on the line if i do connect it?

ok just wired it up without the +5v and im getting a display but its got no colour and shadowed. Now i cant remember if for sync you used the comp video signal instead of the normal sync.

Does that make any sense to anyone ?

You need the +5v line to activate RGB mode, if not it just does composite. +5v to pin 8 and a 180ohm resistor from pin 8 to pin 16.

ok tried that and i get a picture but i had to use a 150 resistor instead of the 180 you said and it jumps to widescreen. Im assuming this is because of the lower value resistor?

Pin 8 controls the aspect ratio. If you supply pin 8 with 4.5-7v it sets the picture to 16:9 mode.
Pin 16 controls the inputs. 0-0.4v is Composite Video and 1-3v is RGB.

Make sure that the +5v line goes to Pin 8 with no resistor in between them. The resistor should only be between pin 8 and pin 16. Meaning pin 8 should be getting +5v.
