Gonna be polite as I can, so please do not be offended. You are offering a game that has been doing about $100 less over the past year than the game you want --- and your game has a sunfaded spine in what appears to be a straight trade. I think you'll be waiting awhile unless you sweeten the pot.

we can always talk if someone is open to trade. not sure of the value of sengoku2, one sold for 179$ recently so considering what i can see online for DD sold units it looked quite ok to me

yes, the side is faded.

YMMV as I recently paid $160 for Sengoku 2 AES on eBay, but come on... Ignore the value and look at the quality difference of the games.

Ive been lurking ebay for the last year and couldn't find one for under $300. I want that link. Just checked Neo Geo kult price guide for shits and giggles and they have the high price of a sengoku 2 at 390 euros which is about 495 dollars. The low is 300 euros which is abouy 375 dollars.

Now, to be fair, it was a clearly underpriced BIN :D

Why does he show pics of the wrong box? And why does he say complete american version and you have the complete japanese version?

Anyways, if you received the complete Japanese version you got one hell of a deal. He obviously did not know what he had or how much it was going for.

Because the seller doesn't know what he's doing. Check out his other listings :lolz:

Oh, and all pics are stock pics.

I'm glad I made you lol, that's good.
Now when you look at the ebay sold auction, the price range for those 2 games is about the same, so I felt it is a fair trade.
If not, from where do you get the value of the game?

It's not really about the value of the game itself, sengoku 2 is a much more desirable title versus the plethora of 1 on 1 fighters on the system.

You didn't make shit. Just because one buyer got a great deal doesn't mean that they sell for that price. Sengoku 2 sells for at least 100 more than DD and like everyone else said Sengoku 2 is a much better game.

Can someone explain to me, again, why price guides are never accurate?

http://www.neo-geo.com/guides/aesguide.html

And the the only comp. listings that matter (matter) are the last eBay listings that show the item going (way) up in value?

I ask 'cause wyo's buy falls within rage of the neo guide.

The NG AES price guide was last updated in 2009. A lot of the price rises have happened relatively recently. A few months back there was a steady stream of Sengoku 2 from Japan that sold for $250-$300. Those appear to have dried up now. If Razo were to resell, he'd likely get around what he paid.

To more accurately gauge the US value of games, all eBay listings that ship or are sold internationally should be taken with a grain of salt at the very least and BINs should be ignored. With a lot of the rarer games, they simply don't go up for sale often enough to put an accurate value on them. There are buyers out there willing to spend whatever it takes to win them when they do pop up. Now the Euro is in the shitter we may see some kind of correction. Gaming micro-economics fascinates me. I should probably get out more...
