Why do the Japanses Win at all fighting games but Lose at Marvel vs. Capcom 2?

You know what!!! I'll tell you why the Japanese lose at MvC2...IT'S BECAUSE THEY PLAY REAL FUCKIN' FIGHTING GAMES!!!!!!! SFIII 3rd Strike, CvS, SSF2T, MOST SNK GAMES!!!, ect. We Americans have gotten soft because of these "Hyper Mega Dial-a-Combo Mash My Way To Victory!!!" Games!!!!!!! And furthermore!!! The Japanese play WITH HONOR!!! not this cheap bullshit you vs. players call skill!!! *shakes head* Thank god MvC2 was the LAST one!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mycah <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> Its so true. I only played MVC2 for about 2 weeks before getting totally pissed off with its stupid cheapness.... I thought that MVC 1 was really good though, as was MSHVSSF.

Yo, Mycah. You need to read that passage of the fighter's bible to yours truly, Terrence. He has skill, but he's cheaper than a seafood restaurant selling shrimp for a dime a pound.

This is a simple answer. The newer incarnations of the "Vs." series cater to skill-less schmucks. They are all about bangin buttons and flailing around on the joystick. Japanese players have trouble adapting to that type of drivel... err... gameplay, as do many skilled American players.

The VS. games are to fighters what NBA Jam
is to basketball games. Hell, I like MvsC2 just fine, a lot even. But it doesn't come close to the purity of SSFIIX for the 3DO.

Well, Americans did get schooled in SF3 big time, but we made a good accounting of ourselves in SSFIIX and we didn't get COMPLETELY smashed in SFA3.

The results of MvsC2 were sick though...Japan almost lost as badly to us, as we lost in SF3.
