I couldn't tell you how many "chipped" PS2 systems that have been sent to me over the years in this condition because they weren't working.

(for anyone wondering I'm willing to attempt a repair but I'm thinking the end result will be I'll just undo all this (I've undone worse) and work on getting it running as a nice NTSC-J system)
