Oh & btw its normally sold with a mobo as it comes a bit like a model 2 set, i.e bare boards in a cage.

Yeah, you'd definitely better have a gun-cab for it, or else its gonna be a pain to try and get working. I was gonna buy a House of the Dead 1 kit to use with my supergun via a Model 2 - Jamma convertor that I made...then I found out you need to connect all these sensors and shit to your monitor. Good luck with your search though...I've never seen a HOTD2 cart for sale myself.

I have a Maze of Kings cabinet coming, if I understand it correctly I can unplug the GD-ROM and plug a HOTD2 rom board in it's place and that's it.

HOTD1 uses different gun sense tech to HOTD2.

Craig was bidding too and if he won it was going to break it up, so be happy that I saved it. :)

Just out of curiosity, how much $ can I expect to drop on a Naomi shooter cab, whether it be HOTD2, or even Maze of Kings (standard size cab, not deluxe)? For that matter, HOTD1 as well. I saw one for sale on ebay a while back, but it was $3500 (brand-new though)

Not sure, as I don't think any of the shooters were sold in Naomi Uni uprights in the US, like this:

My HOTD2 upright has a uniquely cased ROM (grey metal, not white plastic) board running BIOS 21330, not any of the standard releases. It has no Naomi splash screen, and simply says 'Now booting: HOTD2' or some such message in the standard test-screen font.

I can play confidential mission on it by hooking it up to a 21576G BIOS GD-Rom rig, so the rest of the hardware is compatible. I actually leave the 21576G BIOS GD-Rom setup outside the cabinet and use power, audio, and USB extension cords.

However, my HOTD ROM board, when placed in a standard, white Naomi mobo running a 21576 or 21577 BIOS, does not boot, it says the cartridge is unacceptable.

If you find a ROM, you may need a different BIOS as well -- if you are looking for the 21330 BIOS, I'm sure we can arrange to dump a copy. I do not know if there are any differences between the HOTD2 metal-cased mobo other than the BIOS, because I have never swapped the 21330 BIOS out onto a modern white-cased mobo.

I have a Death Crimson OX board as well, and it is uncased as the HOTD2 ROM is, but I haven't been able to test it yet.

If you get board with your MOTK boardset, I would gladly trade you some other naomi soft or PCB, feel free to let me know.

I have access to another Death Crimson OX boardset potentially if you are interested.

I can post pictures if my description is hard to follow.

There was a HOTD2 board set on Yahoo a few days back, but listed as "junk":

Even though Death Crimson OX is mean to be not that great, I might be willing to buy it for the right price....

Got any pics of your cab? I take it its not a Naomi Uni, but a part Woodie jobbie?

I know of someone on this board who can supply MOTK disc & chip for under $300 inc.

Ahh, yes, the infamous 'junk treatment' :loco:

Anyway, here's my HOTD2, it needs a marquee due to the damage you see here. The Death Crimson cart is wrapped in bubble wrap up top, I hope to test this week. I'll let you know what ROM it runs on.

I will ask about another Death Crimson OX cart as well as a HOTD2 ROM for Ace.

I am interested in the MOTK for my setup, that would bring me up to a full set not including Lupin III: The Shooting. I have the guns and I/O boards for Ninja Assault to but have not yet implemented them, I do plan to run that in my Uni cab.

The monitor is a 29" Nanao, and it's fascinating -- it's facing upwards, and the image is displayed in a mirror, to make the action seem farther away, so the game is mirror-imaged on the monitor. The cool thing about the monitor it seems to be hard-wired for a reverse image display! I hooked up a regular board, plus Marvel Vs. Capcom and it booted with a reversed video image, obviously looking correct in the reflection.

I'm also interested in HOTD2, heres my cab:

I just replaced the gun cases on mine as the cab was off a site & they were a bit scratched up.

My CM chip is kinder dedicated as its in the dimm uncased & you have to strip the dimm to remove it.

Mine was the same way. I disassembled a Sports Jam chip case and put the CM chip inside instead, and marked the label appropriately, to protect the chip from being moved.

I will look into the HOTD2 ROM.
