Question! Many of the Blast City panels I've seen seem to have different color auroras/sunsets on them, mostly either a more orange/yellow, or a deeper, slightly purplish red. Is there a difference between these two (or possibly more) colors? Like is one the standard Sanwa panel and one the standard Seimitsu? Or is it completely arbitrary?

Or am I just looking at sun fade? Lol

Where's Chem the color master when you need him ? ;)

There are two different ORIGINAL SEGA colorways, one is more yellow/blue, the other is more orange/purple. These original blast overlays had no “blast city” branding, maybe they were sold separately by SEGA at some point. I occasionally see them for sale used, but they are hard to find without tons of bubbling and rust damage due to age.

Most people use the slightly later revision OFFICIAL SEGA 2 player only colorway which is deeper in purple/orange hues and has the “blast city” branding.

Then the “licensed by” sanwa and seimitsu panels came out with slightly different hues on the 1 player panel, and much lighter blue/yellow on the 2player version.

A common repro colorway that MCS used to print, pretty nice red/purple/black.

I think that’s basically all of them.

All this loveliness.

Nice! Thanks for all the detail and pictures! I figured it was something like that. I definately have to say I like the SEGA version 2 blast panel best..

I mean unless the Virtual-On panel qualifies as a blast panel. :-P

I need to take a better pic of the 2nd panel to really show the color difference between the first two. It’s a much darker blue and considerably more orange than the first.

Here's a couple shots with and without flash of a official Sanwa licensed by panel. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417564381.204344.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1417564389.371327.jpg
And here is a repro panel made by jasen, ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417564431.990887.jpg
Either matches my side art ok which is original ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417564522.048265.jpg

Just got a new fiberglass stool to match the blast, good height, and the seat lifts off to store stuff inside.

Amazon (Wayfair)

I'll be picking up a second one, just ordered one to see if I would like it.

I have added those to my cart so many times but have never pulled the trigger. Good to hear you like them, I watched a vid on YouTube about them but then after I see vids of people with official stackable stools and I hesitate again. You may have forced my hand to buy one to try. I like the capcom decals another member on here put on his too.

You got a link to the video you're talking about?

Those stackable japanese ones are too much money from what I have seen, but they do look shorter which probably isn't a bad thing. I don't think these Wayfair ones are an issue though. I'm 6'2" and my legs are parallel to the ground when I sit on it and my legs just make it under the control panel, but touching.

Here is a picture to show the clearance. The stool fits under the control panel pretty good.
