Needed an audio solution that could drive both speakers and headphones, why a mid 80's stereo amp will suffice. Just couldn't put up with the PVM's mono speaker.

Be kind to stealth, he has a never ending supply of wealth it seems and he shares his fantastic, albeit insane, purchases with us all. I would like him to continue doing this. :)

How much did it go for, lachlan, if I may ask?

Stealth, man, does that monitor easily rotate? I like it a lot.

Still waiting on controllers to arrive, but I've got a MS1 cart I saved. Officially back into the MVS game. Now I need Slug X and Neo Turf Masters and I'll be a happy man.

:lolz:

It rotates fairly easily in either direction 360 degrees.

Came in 2-3 wks ago?

Sharp x68000 XVI
- re-capped PSU/mobo and oiled/greased drive heads
- RAM upgrade
- Compact Flash mod
- MIDI card w/ custom cable
- Boxed Cyberstick
- Capcom joystick adapter

Got a boxed black Sharp x68000 CRT, speakers, mouse, boxed Micomsoft XE-1 Pro joystick and more cables on the way... but also picked up a tri-sync NEC 4:3 LCD monitor. Will probably get an XPC4 and MIDI gear next.

I paid $50AUD including shipping. This was on eBay though, I'm sure with some patience and thrift/pawn shop hunting I could've gotten one for less.

It was sold as-is but tested with speakers and was working. Unfortunately the headphone jack was way too quiet and I would only get left channel audio. Even then I had to crank it up to max volume to hear much and it was distorted, snap crackle pop lol.

When I opened it for a thorough cleaning I discovered the two 220 ohm 1/2 watt resistors on the L and R channels were TOAST, burnt alive and even melted part of the headphone jack. Replaced those and now we're back in business! Also replaced the two fat ass filter capacitors as they had leaked it seems. I just love this old circuitry, no fancy IC's or SMD madness going on.

Got two of these during the week for my supergun setup. Supergun uses Saturn pads/joysticks so I believe this would fit perfectly. They look brand new to be honest.

Any recommendations for modding these or they are fine as they are?

^Some of the Virtua sticks had stock seimitsu sticks, depending on when they were manufactured I believe. The buttons are garbage imho, and unfortunately are soldered to the pcb, kinda a pain to gut but maybe it’s no trouble for you.

How is that Bruce Lee book? Does it have a bunch of stuff that isn't common info about him?

Haven't read it yet myself, its in the queue. This one was recommended by a friend and snagged it with a couple others. Currently working on "Born to Kill" a biographical look at US Vietnamese street gangs of the late 80s and 90s, haha

Awesome Haul by the way the art related stuff is Awesome. How is Born to Kill I forgot that it was on my read list and never grabbed it? I enjoyed the Authors "Westies" book.

Personally I really like Born to Kill so far. I knew quite a few immigrant, vietnamese gangbangers back in highschool and college. Very nostalgic and puts a new frame of understanding on those memories.

Interesting, sounds like a must read. hope the stroll down memory lane wasn't too unpleasant, I can relate its the reason I just moved my family outta NYC. Don't need my kid seeing what I saw in High school. Thanks again.

continued...
You should open a museum. Loots of cool and nerdy stuff to see.
I can't possibly imagine how you store all of this stuff. I remember seeing pictures of your garage years ago and surly you must have run out of space by now.
