I could never do the super moves for many of the games such as SS...they even had the moves list on the arcade machine and I could never be able to do them....I mean not even a couple times, maybe I just suck but other fighting games like the capcom ones they are easier to do, but dogtoy just said this:

DogToy999: it's better that way, because if they were easy then people would only do super moves and there would be no skill in the match

I still think it should be easier to do

True, the SNK games are harder to pull off supers compared to Capcom games. But I think the games are more playable for beginners and novices too. Capcom games are more subject to the "whore". The dude pulling off cheese moves and you have no chance.

when i played samurai showdown 3 with my brother in the arcade id always choose homaru because his super move was similar to street fighter. down forward down forward a+b i think. if i chose anyone else id lose big time. but at least they show you the super move right if not id have never gotten it. i need to practice more.

The only Snk game i have troiuble pulling off the special moves in is the first fatal fury, not that they are hard to do but because the engine is bad and somewtimes does not respond even when you do the move 100 percent perfect

still managed to beat it on level 8 with no continues once though but countless times before that i use to lose to billy as the moves just never seemed to work when i needed them

it's not the super that win's the game......it all about timing :buttrock:
also i hate the game in arcade( the joystick and button..is faulty most of the time) and the vendor..don't change them.......it's so fucking annoying when the other guy/girl you're playing...is beating your ass cause your directional button is faulty :very_ang:

It's the reason why I've always prefered The King of Fighers series. As in Samurai Spirits and some Fatal Fury's I can't do them at all. Now Mark of the Wolves...I can do everybody's except Gato's third one.

If you can't do SNK special moves, I think it just means you weren't meant to use American parts. Use Japanese sticks you can find the corners with, and the problem should clear up.

@Mark of the Wolves: I bet the FF moves you have trouble with are the ones that end in a diagonal-up direction, right? Like Terry's Crack Shoot in FF2/FFS/FF3, which is d, db, b, ub+K instead of just qcb like in KOF from '96 on. Or Joe's Tiger Kick or Mary's M. Spider in FF3. A lot of people had trouble with those for some reason. I guess thats why they all got dumbed down in later games to either quarter circle moves, or dragon punch moves.

But about Gato's third DM, I admit I just mash it. I get it about 70% of the time...

My first Fatal Fury was 3 for the PC, which I found shortly after I got '99 for PSX.
Specials were nothing for me. But supers...supers were the evil laughing at me from behind the screen.

'Till I got hold of an FAQ and realized not only were the moves different, but so were the combinations of buttons to be pressed. C+D instead of A/C for the power geyser.
Or was it the Raising Storm? I don't remember anymore, I've played too much KOF.

Then, to top it off, it progressivly changes throughout the Real Bouts. Talk about confusion. At least there are a few I can do.

Those were the ones that always got me. I pretty much had to look at a FAQ or something before I played to remember them and more often than not by the time I started playing I forgot them anyway.

The downforeward hcf back foreward punch (Necro's Anger)
or the foreward back foreward hcf HS (Gamma Ray)?

Both are pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

The only move I could never pull off was Dahlsim's teleport move in Street Fighter II. I managed it once or twice but that was it. Don't think I've had a problem with special moves in any other games though.

I didn't think the Teleport came along untill Turbo or Championship.

Should be a foreward dragonpunch or backward dragonpunch (depending on which way you wanted to teleport) and all three punches.

i find the sam sho series to be easy, as long as you were presise and not sloppy, i almost always pull the sam sho 4 special when i want. (back, forward, down a+b.) the same for everyone.

Yeah I think it was Street Fighter II Turbo. I don't remember the combination but I know I could never get it on those SNES pads and maybe because I was only about 12 years old!

To be an ass ive always thought that the fact you can knock someone out with a low punch to the leg just because their life bar was 1 hit away from empty...
ive always found that unrealistic but what the hell ITS FUN.

Anyway the 1 thing i hate about SNK fighters would have to be...pulling off Iori or Kyo's DM's in KOF'96....its my favorite KOF but hell it shits me when i cant do them :crying:

eh :)

Blame the fingers, not the game :)

it's all a matter of practice.

I myself ended up playing FFS yesterday. I havent played it in ages. I've been only playing 98 and 2001. The gameplay was very diferent and I had quite some trouble the first minutes to get back on FFS gameplay ( wich is slower than any KOF ). a few minutes of practice and you're back on track. ^_^'

Same here. I always had trouble doing the teleport. I think I did it once or twice by accident.
