Got back from gencon yesterday. I was supprised to see Games Workshop there and Forge World as well. GW had been refusing to go to cons for years if they were not centered around them. I was not impressed enough by the Forge World con exclusive figures to buy either one. GW was going paint demos to sell their new line. They did not bring much stock of anything but had a computer set up so that you could order on line right there. I was not impressed. Their new paint line was okay, at least some of it was better than their last from what I was able to tell when I got to paint with it. However I don't see myself buying into it.
All in all they had one thing there I would love to have gotten and may order on line. The paint station+

To me it looks cool at least. I would have bought it if they had it.
I was actually looking at a lot of paint as I've been wanting to find something I liked.
I've gotten pretty tired of the ones I've been using and after a lot of searching and demos I decided on going with Revolution.

I wated until the last day of the convention and then asked them what kind of deal they would cut me if I bought the entire line. I was pretty happy and walked with a new paint set.
I've been making the move into historicals and Wargames Factory had one heck of a sale at the con. Any of their box sets were $16.00, they are normally 19.99 - 29.99. Not only that it was buy five and get the 6th one free + a free sprue of their new zombie vixens with every sale. I bought like 12 boxes of 30ish figures. I really hope to get some painting in soon. I want to get some warbands done so I can try out Saga. I've been reading through the rules and think it looks like a very awesome game.
Anyone interested in dark age type games should check it out. It's being put out by Gripping Beast.
While at the con I got to see the promo of that 40K relic game. The stuff looked pretty sharp but it won't be out until november.
A new fantasy skirmish game called Freeblades caught my eye and I got to demo it. Almost was willing to buy into it as I liked a lot of things about the rules. I think I'll wait to see how it goes though as I've gotten into enough small games that never took off and it sucks having no one to play with.
Also there were a lot of working girls up there this year. One had a sign that said free hugs so my friend got a hug and she was all like so you guys want a private party. We were good with the free hug. I went to spend my money on games, if I wanted to spend it on second rate whores I could have done that at home.
