Coleco only actually has the rights to like 6 Colecovision games and most of them are sports games. There was practically zero first party output on the system so if you buy the brand pretty much all you get is the Coleco and Colecovision names.

Atari has said they will let people use Atari and Intellivision trademarks and logos on their own sites and homebrew products going forward, provided they follow a few simple rules.

They even said they'd help people selling unlicensed ports of their games become legit. So if you ported Asteroids to Commodore 64 or some shit and have been selling romz of it illegally, you can contact Atari and get an actual license.

They also said people who want to make ports of classic Atari games to other retro platforms can start the process by contacting Albert directly.

It would be considerably more complicated if you were porting to PC, Xbox, Playstation, Switch, Android, or Apple platforms but with already dead platforms they will be quite permissive.
