Hmmm...I don't know L.L., I felt Plasma Sword was an improvement over Star Gladiator. There wasn't a block button (A major plus IMO.) and it was easier to get a good ending this time around, though I could have done without that Plasma Field crap. Capcom needs to stop adding new gimmicks that are just an improve version of Zero 2's Custom Combos. The only one I did like was the Dark Force mode in Vampire Savior (Big surprise huh?!).

From what I've seen, they're just upping the anti with more characters, flashier backgrounds and the same shiat they do to their sequels. But what needs adjusting is the actual game engine and the playbalancing.

The sprites should at least look somewhat related, no more reused alpha/mvc sprites. Gamebalance is a must, especially a reevaluation of all the moves in the game. Some moves on the capcom side have way too much priority and not enough cooldown.

Capcom might go as far as fixing the main problems, but they need to pull an SNK and redo everything to balance over, not just tweak a bit here and there.

Even in its beta version, the sequel already fixed everything that plagued its predecessor. Balance seems to be alright, so far... even Haohmaru. Nakoruru was toned down, but not to the point where she is a useless character... she is still very competitive.

There is only so much you can get out of 2-3 days of playing the game, so we'll just have to wait until it is testing in Japan to see what really has been done to the game.

Hey Javi! Cool to see one of SRK mods on this list!

Now, my take on the whole thing...
CvS2 could very well be the game everyone has been looking for. It's still too early to tell at this stage since E3 only had a beta version available for play, but from what I've heard so far almost everything that annoyed users from the first CvS has been dealt with. James Chen's character analysis was very in depth about their changes, behaviors and abilities. Players that needed to be weakened are now weakened (Nakoruru). Characters that needed a little boost got that (Sakura, Vega). And with 6 different grooves which stretch between KOF (traditional & modern), Alpha, Garou and SFIII AND adjustable ratios, there are almost limitless ways to play this game.

On paper, this is the game we were all begging for back in 1995 when SNK actually had a pretty decent following in the US with more mainstream arcade goers. Sure, it was 6 years in the making, but I think it may be worth it. We shall know more once this game gets officially released in a few months. But for once, I'm actually liking everything I've seen so far about CvS2 (but the idea of a Chang/Balrog team in Parry Mode still makes me vomit... ).

That aside... it has Athena in it, with the possibility of Chin. How can I NOT like this title?

Kamui has a point. Though Capcom did get most of their sequels right... although I daresay there may be some exceptions like Z3, MvC 1/2, etc., to name a few. But at least Capcom has finally been starting to listen to its fans. Besides, if Capcom didn't listen in the first place, we wouldn't be having CvS 1 or 2 at all.

Though, I am a fan of both companies. I find that Capcom vs. SNK 2 will be a better game that the last one. But, as the best fighting ever? I don't think so. Capcom is trying to hard to find a way to balance out the characters without offending anyone. What they should do is give the characters strengths and weaknesses. This will let each characters live or die on his or her merits. Also, it will cause the players to develop strategies with their favorite characters.

CrapcomVSMasher2 assists ruin the whole game case closed!

So much for your arguement right there Kamui...Crapcom fuk up all the time.So much for the so-called "improvements each game" pffffft!

Don't deny it!

Heh, Man such an attack on Kamui was unwarrented. Man you really hate him don't you? Just to be fair on this tho, I will agree on some points and say Capcom is at fault BUT, SNK has done the same shit also over the years so this is a pointless arguement due to both Capcom and SNK having been known to rehash the same shit.

Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter 2 CE
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Street Fighter 2
Super Stret Fighter 2 Turbo

KoF 94
KoF 95
KoF 96
KoF 97
KoF 98
KoF 99
KoF 2K

They are both equally at fault for re-hashing their games and you can't say they arn't. What can we say? A lot of people LIKE their games rehashed. Just you can choose your dish by Capcom or SNK.

pffftt. Try to slam Kamui a bit more harder than this ok?

By Jove, don't you think that's being a little mean, Yoj?

While I'm not the biggest fan of Alpha 3, it can be defended as better than Alpha 2. And the biggest thing MvC2 has going against it is balance issues, and is otherwise a very good, if different game.

Of course, because it's playing style is so disparate from other fighters, the untrained eye often interprets quality play of it as "mashing."

But to the point, I would have to say that I agree with Kamui. Capcom does have a good track record of sequels imroving upon originals. Also, the release of Pro shows that they are attempting to fix some of the engine and balance problems that made the first one so... awkward.

But I'm not going to say it WILL be good or WILL be bad. But I'll buy it either way, and play it too.

After seeing the trailer at gamespot.com, I will purchase this game. But, as to say this is the made. I will have to say no to that. Having played GGX, SF:3S and Garou. This game will have to beat in the areas of character balance, gameplay depth, combo possibility. Because, all these excel in these areas.

Ive seen Capcom VS. SNK 2 running, unless the home versions are cleaned up, the graphics are still as ugly as the first games, VERY dirty/pixalated characters.

Next to Guilty Gear X is looks like complete trash.

I've played the first one and really had no problems with it. It doesn't play like classic SNK, but if you just give the gameplay a chance it will grow on you. I am not worried about the second one since I do not have high expectations.

Anybody know BTW if SNK v. Capcom will be released for MVS. I think I heard/read somewhere that it was still NOT a 100% sure. If that goes through then there might be hope yet for a totally different gameplay; more like kof.
