Yeah, we've seen the hypocrisy trainwreck headlines before, but nothing quite like this one — as if all the punchlines and stereotypes rolled into one individual:

HuffPost: Lisa Biron, Anti-Gay Christian Lawyer, Arrested On Child Pornography Charges
Sourced from The Advocate: Anti-Equality Female Attorney Arrested on Underage Sex Charges

Lisa Biron, a Manchester, N.H., lawyer affiliated with an antigay group, is accused of transporting an underage girl to Canada, coercing her into having sex, and filming it.

Biron was arrested on Friday during a hearing to determine whether she would be brought up on charges related to child porn found on her computer. FBI agents swooped into the hearing and arrested Biron on more serious charges pertaining to the Canadian incident. Biron was slapped with the following federal charges: transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possession of child pornography, and five counts of sexual exploitation of children.

Biron's trouble keeps deepening: Police found 200 rounds of ammunition at Biron's home, she allegedly threatened the person who informed police about the pornography, and two witnesses claim they saw her with marijuana, ecstasy, and cocaine.

The Concord Monitor reports that Biron is affiliated with the Alliance Defending Freedom, a self-described "servant ministry building an alliance to keep the door open for the spread of the Gospel by transforming the legal system and advocating for religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and family." The group's website has an entire section devoted to its fight against marriage equality and calls a federal judge's decision against California's Prop. 8 "a dangerous decision that could ultimately threaten your religious freedom and the democratic process.

Biron also recently served on the board of directors at Manchester's Mount Zion Christian Schools.

I don't think the article has identified her as a Christian.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but parochial schools cannot deny employment to an individual just 'cos he or she is not an adherent to the faith? Doesn't that violate federal non-discriminatory laws?

And by the way, it shouldn't be illegal to deny employment to people who don't share the same faith as a religious organization. That's like me asking for a pastor's position at a mosque. Not going to happen.

It should absolutely be a requirement to be of the same faith as a faith based organization.

The Gospel is a term that only one faith uses, Christianity. Don't act ignorant.

Wrong. Islam recognizes the Gospel as well.
Why so much pushback to the notion that the lawyer may not even be Christian, just working as legal representation for the group?
I've worked in newspaper for such a long time, that I don't take anything at face value unless it's clearly specified.
Hence, "attorney of Christian group" != "attorney who is also an adherent to the Christian faith" unless I get further proof in detail.
And even if she is a Christian, so what? I detest the politicized climate, in which we live in today, that fosters demonization of categorical groups based on the misconduct of individual members.

First of all, both of us know that this woman is not Muslim.

Second of all, the reason you post these articles at all is because of some self-affirming feeling you get when people from groups that represent a belief system or lifestyle you don't agree with get caught doing things that they denounce. Like it justifies your stance on things. I hope you feel better about yourself now!

P.S. - Why don't you post another biased article about the Israel/Hamas conflict now? Maybe you can feel even better!

Fighting against gay rights is the dumbest thing a person (or people) can sink their time into. It's getting ridiculous in this day and age.

No, I post these because the hypocrisy is hilarious. I was thinking that it could easily come from the pages of The Onion, with the headline "Attorney Violates Every Article of the Ten Commandments, and would have also violated 'The One of Honor thy Parents,' except she is an orphan."

Don't get a butthurt man.

I'll stop when I see you post a fair article on the Israel/Palestinian conflict. Which means never.

The media coverage in the past 7–8 days has been pretty good — media outlets were actually on the ground in Gaza, instead of passing reports to Jerusalem for the IDF military censors. Open and read some newspapers, or watch some news on television d00d.

Fuel to the fire of my suspicion of anyone who is vocally against things like gay marriage.

*Looking directly at Prime Minister Stephen Harper.*

I like to think of myself as more of a Liberal, but aside from his handling of EI benefits, I think the PM has done a good job on the whole in keeping our nation relatively well off during these tough financial times.

Canada and the U.S. were founded as Christian nations. I think we should be accepting of other faiths and lifestyles, but don't forget our roots. Its possible to be both.

As for have child porn, that is not only in contradiction to being a Christian, but in contradiction to being a Canadian, and in contradiction to being a human being.

"we were founded as a Christian nation" what do people think this is supposed to mean? Other than a poor attempt at defending their belief system.

We were also founded on slavery. I'd like to think we should move on from such stupidity.

You should read up on how the founding fathers of the US admired and hoped to model things off Islam.

EDIT: Actually found a recent article. I have to take some of it back, but you get the picture. Freedom for all, etc.

This is hilarious, it really does hit basically every possible variation on the hypocrisy trainwreck .

Ki_atsushi, seriously dude--no need to jump all over Bok on this, I think a fair number of us would've posted this.

Now, if only TMZ could snap a photo of Michael Savage walking out of a San Francisco bathhouse with crusty eyebrows and a slight limp.

Just because she gets paid by anti-gay people doesn't mean she can't be a pedo. Catholic priests have long been known as both.

The US was founded as a place for people of all religions, including those who have no religion. I don't care how popular Christianity was then or is now. It does not define our nation and never has. What would be great is if people just kept their beliefs to themselves and let everyone else live in peace.
