APS in Arizona wants people to cut back and conserve energy by not running major appliances between 3 pm and 8 pm. All ACs should be set at 80 or above. Their claim is while we should have enough power, since they are part of the grid with several other western states, those places are becoming a drain and Arizona may be affected by that.

Never mind the fact we're breaking records left and right and came off the hottest July in recorded history where the average daily temp was over 110 degrees...not to mention APS wants to raise their rates though many have a hard enough time paying utilities because of COVID-19.

Ya I wasn’t terribly impressed by CA.

I went to San Francisco for the first time last year. People warned me about all the homeless but I was pretty shocked when I go there. I stayed in a hotel that was walking distance to my office but had to get in super early due to stock market hours...I stopped counting how many people i’d pass sleeping on the street etc.

Plus I was shocked to learn how many people had such lousy commutes into the city. Because of our weird hours a lot of people had commutes that included UBER + BART. I mean I have a long commute here in MA but it’s nothing to what these folks endure.

Add in fires.

Add in earthquakes.

Add in blackouts.

Yeah not for me. CA is way overhyped. Fuck that shit.
