I can't believe this shit but I have to know did anyone else get screwed by David J. I purchased Neo Turf Masters from him and didn't get what I was hoping for. I received a cart with a neo geo cd sticker, no manual, faded insert. The gold caution sticker was removed in which you can see the sticker print. Man this guy did not even tell me up front if the game was a conversion, boot, or fake. Please don't tell me that I'm the only one. I'm so stupid....duh!!

A Neo Turf Masters AES would have cost you a fortune so, if not paid that much, you should have expected at least a conversion...

But didn't you inquire about what you were getting before the deal?

Or its real and just in shitty condition which would also explain a low selling price.

But we don't know who David J. is (is that his username? I didn't find anything from his WTB thread) or how much he agreed to pay. There is no record of it on the forum that I could find.

So more details are needed.

This should be in the feedback forum.

Like hoop-jones said, there must be a little more to that story. Did you see any pics before you bought the game? If I'm buying something, unless it's someone I really trust that I've bought from before, I always ask to make sure it's all original stuff. Don't just leave it up to the seller to tell you, and if he/she doesn't, oh well. What happened when you tried to contact him about it?

No way man, if a seller's selling conversions/boots then they need to be up front. If it's legit and in poor condition then maybe you're a bit to blame for not asking about condition, but seriously, in this market, the seller needs to represent their items properly.

I looked at his sales thread and found nothing about his NTM, did he send you pics of it?.
I'd have been very cautious if it wasnt in his sales thread, especially with his low feedback:(

I am to blame

You're right I am to blame as well. Given the offer of 200 euro for it, I should have known it was a conversion. But he sold other games as well that where at crazy prices. So I thought he was just stupid, so I jumped in the pot, but yet got fried. Plus the guy says he's an honest seller. Guess I'm the stupid one.

It's a conversion but yet it's not even a good conversion.

what he said! Sellers should be totally clear about the stuff they are selling, I hope you can somehow solve the problem...

I feel bad for you man. It's always a risk when you send money to someone you don't know that lives hundreds or thousands of miles away. I'm sure you will be much more careful next time.

I can't tell if this is a joke thread or not.

You paid Euro 200 for a game that was not pictured/described in the thread? And thought it was real?

Show us a pic of your Stadium Events US NES cart while you're taking pics.

ok, with a price of 200€ it should be pretty obvious that you wont get a Original Neo Turf Masters, nonetheless he still should have told you explicit that it is a conversion

Anyway, if he's an honest seller he'll take it back and refund you. If not, visit paypal if you paid that way and get it straightened out, they *hate* bootlegs. Maybe a little your fault for being hasty, but all in all the seller knew what he had, he also knew in this market condition is everything.

And not that we follow market rules ever, buuut:

6.14. Users should ALWAYS describe the condition of boxes, manuals, discs, carts, etc. Be sure to note if the items being sold are complete, loose, has manual, back cover, etc. Deception is not tolerated; e.g., if a listing has photos of the front of a cartridge, but there is a Blockbuster sticker on the back, it should be clearly noted in the description.

The seller should have stated that the cart was a conversion - no doubt.
But you can´t really call someone a scammer when he sells you a cart for 200€ that sold was sold on ebay for about 4.000$ not long ago.

His prices are on the crazy side, but crazy high. He's have been charging you 100 times what you paid it it was genuine.
Not much consolation, but atleast your only 200 euros down, if he doesnt take it back you can sell it on and get most of that cash back.

Anyway the spine insert of the NTM cart is shown in one of the group picture in the selling thread, just near the DodgeBall cart (another conversion)

He didn't put it for sale and when you settled for 200 euro, he probably tought you were aware that it was a conversion...

Naah...I just happened to see it and thought maybe he forgot to post it along with the others. It's my fault for not asking especially on a rare item like NTM. So far I guess I'm the only one. Got myself a 200 dollar cup holster.

Sofmap?

Has anyone ever heard of Sofmap? Apparently I guess that is where he got it from. Has a Sofmap sticker on the back of the shock box.

Agree with what everyone here has already said. If you see it for so low, a game that goes typically goes for alot, lot, lot more than what you were going to pay for, it is usually too good to be true. Even though you think he is a scammer, you essentially "got what you paid for". You think he was stupid, but sellers of Neo carts especially on this forum, know what they have and aren't naive to let a big money item go for peanuts.

Maybe you want to slow down a bit, saw that you have a bunch of posts wanting to get everything from Euro Kizuna to all of the Slugs and everything "rare" in between. You'll become a target for those who want to off their conversions while you're thinking you hit the jackpot. Search the forums, get the know who the trusted sellers are and you'll be better off. Just my 2 cents.
