HW: - Hell ya'
If the Shotos fought straight up kyokugenrus (not the watered down first CvS version) there is no way it could be a fair fight.

Well if there was no Ryu or Ken would SNK ever created Ryo,Robert and the Kyokugenryu team?

This is only a thought although I like both styles and equally choose Ryu/Ken and Ryo/Robert.

Actually you have it backwards.Ryo and robert were the original concept for ryu and ken.

Ryu and Ken made their debut in 1987. When did Art of Fighting come out? 1989? You DO know how Dan Hibiki was created, correct?

SNK may have swiped the style, but they sure as Hell improved on it.....

I agree, Dan was created becuase of Art of Fighting. But my favorite Kyokugenryu fighter is Robert Garcia from KOF 98 when you choose his alternate from. Now he will dominate!

Hell no!
Shotokan guys have invulnerable attacks like
the greatest attack-Shoryuken,while Kyokugen
have only one desperate move while in Red bar
hehe, they look pathetic compared to Shotokan guys!
Do you think that stupid Mr.Karate can
whitstand Gouki`s powers?!

Well I wasn't saying Robert would win but he is my favorite Kyokugenryu fighter, such as Ken is my favorite Shotokan fighter. But I must admit the Shotokan fighters do have some devastating moves(Shun Goku Satsu, Kongou Kokuretsuzan,Shin Shoryuken,Shippu Jinrai Kyaku.)

Yo, Mr. Karate was badass enough in AOF1 to show me the way to play.

I know this may sound "weak", but I personally think that Ryo's air fireball alone really puts him above most of the "regular" shotos (Ken Ryu and Sean) -- However I agree that his power level is no where near the air fireball - teleport - raging demon - AKUMA level.

what's bad-ass is that shotokan is a real martial art- very powerful in fact, students are taught to kill with single blows- and kyokugenryu is just some made up shit, i think. i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

obviously I wasnt clear enough.Im speaking mostly story-wise.Those without bias will realize the superiorty of kyokugenryu.

mr.karate vs. gouki.

these two are practically the same charecter made by the same guy.The same applies to ryu/ken and ryo/robert.Their flip sides to the same coin exept if you check details such as ki power you will see ryo and robert as superior to ryu and ken.

When I saw gouki destroy a whole mountain I thought shotokan was superior but then I saw takuma deflect a satellite beam from the zero canon with his haohshokohken.

ryo would defeat ryu and robert would defeat ken.Sean, sakura and dan would be easy pickings for them.

takuma vs. akuma would end in tie or death on both sides.

but since ryo, robert can defeat ryu, ken, dan, sean, and sakura that leaves akuma alone and since the match against takuma ended in double ko or worse the kyokugenryu teak would be victorius.

I havent even mentioned the other 2 kyokugenryu power houses like yuri and marco.

BOTTOM LINE:SHOTOKAN LOSES BADLY!!!

Hey, why don't we just ask Ryo?

"Ultimate Karate. That's Kyokugen. And don't forget it, Dweebenheimer!"
-From KoF'98

Sounds pretty convincing! <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

Well we could ask ryu.

ryu:"you must defeat shen long to stand a chance!"

or we could ask mr.karate.

mr.karate:"you must master hao ken in order to beat me!"

hmmmmmmmmm <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

its no mistake thus why i asked you to reread.

streetfighter 1 came out 1987

art of fighting 1 in 1992

this I DO NOT argue.

I simply stated that ryo and robert were the original concept for ryu and ken.Just simply that.Understand?

I used to say this about shotokan and kyokugen back in the capcom forum:
Shotokan is based on Karate while Kyokugen is based on Kung-fu and Karate combined.

(Note: If you say that it's impossible to combine Kung-fu and Karate, you're wrong!)

At last, someone has decided to acknowledge the superiority of Kyokugenryu Karate over Shotokan.
All kyokugenryu supporters: Thank you, you have done the Kyokugen proud! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Seriously, if kyokugenryu was a true style, I would quit my shotokan classes and start it right up!

Gouki/Akuma isn't Shoto anymore. I thought he was Messatu.

It's a branch of Shoto, but it's not the same. He followed the "evil path", just like Mr. Drummond from Diff'rnt Strokes.

P.S. Evil Ryu rules...Evil Sakura is okay.

Well, then you know Ryu and Ken came first. How can Ryo and Robert be the original concept for Ryu and Ken if they came out 6 years after Ryu and Ken did? (And 1 year after Street Fighter 2)?
