I like black licorice.. i even enjoy dutch double salt licorice.. but my favorite is the “salted herring” licorice from germany. God it’s so good.

Four years ago I went to a restaurant and ordered a steak and milkshake. I drank the milkshake which caused a thick mucus to form, which in turn made it difficult to swallow. The steak caught in my throat, and nothing would go down. I tried drinking but the water wouldn't go down. I freaked out and ran to the bathroom. I spent 20 minutes violently coughing up until the meat came out.
I don't drink milk before eating anything now. I still have this problem.

As I get older I find the idea of drinking milk more and more strange. Drinking the milk of another animal... weird and gross.
That said, I have no problem eating eggs. Those little unfertilised golden presents from crazy little dino birds. I own chooks, weird little cunts. I’ve watched one lay an egg and I snatched it up while it was still warm and kinda sticky and I took it inside and cracked it into the pan. Did you know chickens shit and lay eggs from the same vent?! Yeah, they call it a vent.

Licorice is a herbal medicine, as well as a food. If you have a lot of it, it can raise your blood pressure.
Even kill you, that's confirmed.
But it also say's in the article many of the licorice products in the US do not even contain licorice, funny as that seems but some anise(anus?) oil, i am lucky we have the real deal.

Correct, most licorice candy is just anise flavored. It's an ungodly flavor - that's why I also think most Absinthe is abhorrent. Why would you ruin a perfectly good beverage with anise?
I do not like the anise flavor either. Abhorrent is the correct word for Absinthe.
Traditional Icelandic spirit is Brennivin or black death. Which i am not a big fan of, it is cumin and caraway flavored, with some resemblance of anise as well.
It is often served cold along with some fermented shark. It is quite something
