I have never been a fan of tower defense. I think the closest I've gotten to enjoying one was Orcs Must Die. But that was short lived in my library.
I wouldn't even call it tower defense. It opperates almost more like a collectable card game or something. When I think tower defense, I think about wave after wave, you place immobile defense units along a path, and you upgrade your various units while trying not to get overrun. This is more like team against team. You have a deck, and you send out characters and vehicles depending on what the opponent sends out.
