I know there are more than a few Denver people here, I tried posting a thread in the Gatherings but haven't had any luck.

I'm moving to Denver in a month, and I know to steer clear of E Colfax and pretty much all of Aurora. Are there any other neighborhoods/suburbs I should stay away from?

Also, where would you recommend? I've heard Englewood is good and Lakewood is decent. What about Littleton or Wheat Ridge?

Let me know, kthx.

You look like the love child of John Denver.

Stay away from John Denver when you are in Denver.

Daddy was a muppetsexual btw.

Stay away from John Denver
Burial:
Cremated, Ashes scattered.
Specifically: Ashes scattered over the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
Do the mtns go into town or is the town on the mountains? what I found said an officialy named(rocky) park was an hour and half outside of Denver.

Lafayette has a bomb chicken & beer spot, The Post.

Denver/Boulder is so 1996-have you considered Ft. Collins?

Anywhere but Longmont, man...unless you like to stay in a lot.

I live in Englewood. It's not bad if you stay on the East side of Federal.

Wheat Ridge is a decent suburb, but it's a little out of the way. Most of Littleton is fine.

Don't go to:
Five Points
Montbello
Anywhere more than ten blocks from Coors Field in LoDo (lower Downtown)
East Colfax
Commerce City
Capitol Hill area
Most of Aurora
Sheridan
Lincoln Park area

Lakewood kind of blows too.

EDIT: Westminster and Arvada suck pretty badly too.

I didn't think colors and boys n the hood glorified thug life? I'm more sure about boys n the hood because its on tv all the time, colors I am sort of guessing on though.

My life is violent, but violence is life. Peace is a dream, reality's a knife. My colors, my honor, my colors, my all, with my colors upon me one soldier stands tall.

The National Wildlife Refuge is probably the safest place on that map.

What's wrong with Aurora? I was there a long time ago and it was nice.

When Beeler Airforce Base was still open, it was like a land-locked Imperial Beach, circa 1980's...a little hardscrabble-yet nice.

AmeriCorps re appropriated the base facilities in '95, and A town was still desirable to an extent...because AmeriCorps was Getting Things Done.

Now that AmeriCorps has relocated it's Central NCCC campus, and all the video rental stores on Colfax have closed, it's dark days my friend.

Why would one consider Denver unsafe?

Has it always been that way?

I always thought Detroit was the city with the 'danger' stigma, but that was probably just because I watched Robocop a lot.

Any city with ~2.7 million people in its metro area is going to have some neighborhoods and suburbs you want to avoid. Most of Denver is very safe but in places like Five Points you might get shot at (especially if you're white). We have bloods, crips, and other gangs just like any other big city.

The US are one big ghetto.
