Being honest - I bought this game for a couple reasons:
Support indie work in hopes of continued titles on the neo.
I dug the artwork...a lot.
It looked like something my wife might actually spend 10 minutes on - which is saying something; she really doesn't "get" gaming.
Notice "looking forward to gameplay" missing from the list of reasons.
Well, I can now say it should have been on the list.
When looking for titles to bring to my parents house for Christmas Eve (only my kids and my brother-in-law game...at all) I was trying to find stuff that would have the most chance at engaging the group. I brought KoF 98' as the sole fighter, Twinkle Star Sprites, and Knight's Chance.
I initially thought we'd try them all out - TSS would be the crowd favorite for an hour and then we'd move on to just the boys playing KoF. That didn't happen.
First game in was Knight's Chance...and it was the only game we put in for 3 hours. We had 15 people in the room and everyone would get turns playing Mystic Dice or Cursed Mynd. Everyone has advice on what to keep in the dice game - everyone thinks your an idiot for cashing in too early...everyone yelling at the screen. It was an absolute blast - a neo game that can truly be a party game. Can't recommend enough.
