I honestly wouldn’t let that thing anywhere near my records.

Should be easy to flip though.
I actually asked the guys at the hifi store and they said its surprisingly good, just upgrade the needle. Will i play any of my $100+ records on it? No way. Will i take a stack of 3 or 4 new releases and go sit in the park with it and have a picnic? At least once! Lol

Boiz, I got a Cambridge Audio amp with a built-in phono stage. Any benefit to keep my old U-Turn pre? Or is the built-in pre going to sound just as good or better?

My pre-tariff gear is on the way. Will take pictures once it's set up.

Typically external pre are better than integrated, but i have no reference point for the ones you mention. With the u-turn being an entry price point unit honestly what i would do is pack it up and stash it somewhere. Case in point: my schiit mani 2 died a month ago and as it gets repaired im using my previous bellari preamp that i was too lazy to sell. If i didnt have it- id have no ability to play records right now which would have annoyed me enough i went out and wasted dollars on another pre just so i could jam out.

I'd bet the Cambridge built-in will sound comparable to the U-Turn, but why not just A/B them? Let your ears tell you. Like max said, typically a separate phono pre will sound better than the internal in an integrated amp, but the U-turn is sort of an entry-level unit, so they might sound pretty close.

Yeah, I'll plan on A/Bing. I just didn't know if there was a rule of thumb that all integrated phono stages are trash or something like that. I thought about selling the U-Turn unit to offset the cost, but I could use it for my office turntable (the Soundburger that Voltron Badass ragequit over).

Yo the fucking soundburger with upgraded needle slaps. Fuck all haters. I took that shit to florida and sat on the back porch and watched the sun set blaring the dictators (amongst other things i picked up in a gainesville record store) through a bluetooth speaker. REAL GANGSTER MOTHERFUCKIN SHIT!!!!

I mean, it's cool now –– just imagine this shit in 1983. Insanity. I'll die on the hill that it's a good product.

It was revolutionary then, absolutely no doubt. Today it is a portable way to safely play records on the go without fucking them up. Both instances kick ass

Just bought a new AV receiver. I'm a Denon fanboy and the X3800 was plan A. But the Pioneer was cheap as fuck. RRP 1400 €.
Pioneer VSX-LX305 M2, would have preferred it in silver but I don't care at all for that price.

Yeah, the DD in the model number denotes direct drive. So you won't have to worry about replacing a belt. Will probably have difficulty sourcing a new stylus/cartridge for it being that it is p-mount though.

I'd take it to a local record shop, and have them look it over, dogg. Who knows what kind of condition that needle is in. And I'm sure the drive motor could use a service.

They aren't called "Elite" here.

It was a steal for 600 €. Will be upgrading to 5.1.4 in the next few months. Used Dirac for the initial setup.

Kinda late to the Oppo mod party but installed an upgraded linear power supply and IEC inlet + wiring in my UDP-203. Plug and play for the most part.

I think the benefits are well documented online (will see if my old ass eyes/ears can notice an objective difference as I throw more discs through it) but I also thought of this as preventative maintenance for my 'ol faithful considering Oppos have been out of production for quite some time now. Thanks to @bubba966 for helping me track this down @ oppomods.
