Got a couple new toys in the mail the other day.

Spoiler:

The Mavis was a kit the kids and I put together.

@Lagduf - still no modules, but figured I'd get these till I figure out what to do for those....though i did drop the Mavis into one of the eurorack cases for now. These pair really well with the other Moog semi-modulars I have. At this point we're just missing one called the Spectravox.

Yes because its different other than adding a retard mode for those playing it with a gamecube controller.
Yeah the GC version felt ridiculously unplayable without a 3rd party arcade stick back then. Aside from the easy input option, CVS2 EO did make a ton of balance changes to everything from characters to the groove options themselves. Most notoriously, roll cancelling was removed, but since that bug had gone on to be a widely accepted match element, most of us straight up ignored EO for tournament play back when it released (which was a little bit of a shame since the xbox version supported xbox live and was the only way to easily play CVS2 online with friends back then).
Hopefully CVS 1, Pro, and 2 will see a rerelease on steam, etc soon with all the new hype these old crossover games are getting. Hell, I’d love if they also gave Capcom vs Psikyo from the Dreamcast a second life on switch in japan since other taisen gimmick games already saw a digital rerelease there lol

How do you like CVS2 EO compared to CVS2?
I mean yeah, blackanese pretty much described it all. They added a mode that makes all the super inputs very simple, but you can just as easily turn it off and play with traditional inputs, so no harm there for me. It's also kinda nice if you have a girlfriend or someone who doesn't know how to play fighters. As for all the balance changes? I'm assuming unless you are a hardcore player, you won't notice much. So for me it's a great port.

Did you choose EO for Xbox because you don't own a Dreamcast or do you just prefer EO overall?

I had the Jap version of CvS2 on GC because it was ultra cheap.
